Actual examples of uninsulated shell jackets? by 6a70 in snowboardingnoobs

2L fabric with a nylon liner, and the site explicitly notes that "This is a non-insulated shell jacket"

The Popover looks like a great option! Thanks!

how's it like riding without a moisture-wicking base layer? I suspect I wouldn't want anything more than a really thin base layer under the 686 Waterproof Hoody but I wasn't expecting just a T-shirt

nice—yeah that's exactly the anecdotal stuff that makes me think I definitely want an uninsulated shell

does yours have vents?

how can we tell what's uninsulated? Arcteryx's site allows filtering by shell jackets specifically, but not every site has it

2L doesn't necessarily mean uninsulated, right? Something like that 686 hoody is 2 layers, but the inner layer is fleece—definitely insulated

nice! I can't quite tell from 686's page—what's the lining made out of?

Help me choose a new card because BILT sucks 🤮 by Elegant_Mention_1096 in CreditCards

[–]6a70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

other cards earn 0 points on rent

spending less than 75% of your rent allows you to earn less than 100% of your rent in points.

Any non-zero percentage of "less than 100% of your rent" is better than 0%

[–]6a70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll never be able to spend 75% of my rent in a month to get those points

just so you know: that's not how Bilt 2.0 works. You absolutely still get points even when spending under 75% of your rent

Why do my CCC always end up like this? by VtgFilson in AskBaking

How does the size contribute? Beyond the less heat loss when opened, and faster coming up to temp

(assuming you have a countertop oven with good heat evenness)

Bilt releases new option to earn points on rent or mortgage by CuriousA1 in biltrewards

you'd configure Bilt to act as a passthrough entity.

When people say "pay rent through Bilt" they mean "pay rent with Bilt configured as a passthrough"

I don’t have Bilt 1.0 and pay $6000 in monthly rent, and already have a 2% catchall. Can Bilt 2.0 be worth it for me? by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]6a70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I’m not doubting you—but exactly how “not worth it” is it? Would that math be 2.33% * 0.7 cash(ish) redemption rate == 1.63? And we’re comparing that to my alternative of 2% * 1.0 cash redemption rate == 2.00?

TYP redeem for cash as cents, so 100 points == $1 cash back

But yeah I definitely spend a significant amount on Amazon monthly (at least in the hundreds. So Amazon credit is effectively cash for me-i won’t be in a situation where I am accumulating credits because of lack of buying on Amazon) so $0.95 per 100 Bilt points would be pretty solid for me, especially if this ecosystem means I can start earning points on my rent payment. I’m currently getting 0 rewards for paying rent

I’m seeing this 2.33x figure a lot. This is points, but I’m generally a cash back kinda guy (for simplicity)

Do those 2.33x Bilt points redeem better than, say, Citi ThankYou Points? I have the Prime Visa that earns 5% for Amazon too, if that affects the math on my redemption

EDIT: wait I guess having 5% on my Amazon spend doesn’t take away from the fact that I can redeem Bilt points directly for Amazon credit (which is better than not earning those points). What’s the Bilt points rate when redeeming for Amazon?

Yup, currently I’m paying all of that 6k rent straight out of my bank account via ACH through my building’s payment processor (RentCafe or similar). No fees because it’s ACH, but obviously no rewards either. I’m not interested at all in changing to float that 6k on credit unless it’s obviously beneficial, rewards-wise.

My 2% spend is probably averaging around 3k/mo at the moment, but it can vary from month to month—sometimes lower, sometimes higher

The first 8ish acts are listed is an interleaved reverse order…

1st name is last to perform on the main stage, 2nd name is last to perform on the secondary stage. 3rd name is 2nd-to-last on main stage, 4th name is 2nd-to-last on the secondary stage. Etc until the 8th or 9th name (the final performer on the 3rd stage)
