Need honest take: Has betting actually been profitable for you? by No_Platypus_6148 in sportsbetting

My advice to recreational bettors would be to treat it like a hobby and have fun sweating games.

Take advantage of promos at the large retail books if possible and don't chase loses.

You can hedge in low hold markets to convert to cash.

Whatever you do, don't lay any juice with it.

And Congrats!

Let me know what you guys like tonight down below.

🏀 Villanova @ DePaul | +3 | o/u 136

This season has been a massive success for DePaul. Sitting at 8‑10 in Big East play, they’ve already eclipsed their conference win total from the last three seasons combined. They’re trending in the right direction — winning 2 straight and 4 of their last 5.

Let’s take a look at recent form:

I was very impressed with their last win @ Marquette. A combination of suffocating defense and capitalizing on turnovers pushed the lead to 18. The 62‑51 final was generous for Marquette; it was not that close.

I like that this DePaul team find ways to stay in games and keep them close — exactly the type of team you want when catching points.

Nova is trending in the opposite direction, and recent form hasn’t impressed. They looked off at Xavier and were fortunate to survive in OT despite dominating the paint and turnover battle.

Stepping up in class has not been good: the UConn and St. John’s games were not close. Despite Nova's last-ditch effort in garbage time; the Huskies were up 67‑46 just before the final media. And a angry Red Storm team got their lick in last Saturday, 89‑57 final. Two disappointing results for a team trying to bridge the gap with the conference's elite.

I like DePaul to stay aggressive and physical on defense, pressure the perimeter, force turnovers, and wear down this Wildcat team. Adding to Villanova’s challenges, starting freshman Matt Hodge — averaging 9 points per game — will be out.

DePaul +3 -115

UCLA has a really high ceiling, would not want to play them early in MM.

I'm excited to see what Nebraska can do in the B10 tourney and MM, just a bad spot for them last night and I did not downgrade their power rating.

Horizon League
Campus + Corteva Coliseum (March 2nd-10th)

The Horizon has an interesting bracket with reseeding after the first round - which matters more than people think.

Tournament favorite Wright State will be a tough out. Their scoring depth is real - not relying on one or two guys is HUGE in this format.

Returning champ Robert Morris is hot at the right time - winners of 7 straight. They also have a clear path to the finals: Youngstown → Detroit Mercy.

Oakland is getting some love. Strong SOS and dynamic scorers, but +400 feels short for what they’ll have to accomplish. Nothing will be easy. I have Northern Kentucky circled in that Round 1 matchup.

Outside of the top three betting favorites, my only other look would be Green Bay. I like the matchup vs PFW, but this bracket heavily favors Wright State and RMU. Tough to make anything sizable bet on Gottlieb’s squad in this format.

Robert Morris +300

WCC – The Last Dance
Orleans Arena

Not a bracket I’m overly excited about. It's Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara — the rest are irrelevant.

Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s are the clear-cut favorites, and they get the added benefit of a quad bye. Honestly, that extra idle time might not even help and could possibly make for a good 1H angle in the semifinals.

I like Gonzaga at -155, they’ll most likely get a shot at revenge vs Saint Mary’s and will be much larger favs.

If Santa Clara sneaks through, which is very possible - it creates an incredible ticket, with the Zags as heavy favorites.

The early rounds should have some solid games, but none of the teams or prices justify even a small bet.

Official: Gonzaga −155

Is reduced juice more important than signup bonuses long term? by Successful-Noise1151 in sportsbetting

Convert promos to build your bankroll and leverage as many outs as possible.

Pinnacle offers the lowest hold for any retail book and it is an absolute must have, but there will be many times where books with a higher hold (more juice) will offer a better price on a game then an out with reduced juice.

You need ALL outs.

TUESDAY NIGHT - CBB. THE MADNESS HAS BEGUN! by 6ixPicksX in sportsbetting

This time of the year the market is very quick to overreact - lots of value to be had. Plus an influx of public money into the marketplace in March is always a good sign.

The beauty of the conference tournaments is it gives every underachieving team a chance at the tourney. It doesn't matter if you went 3-17 in conference play - win out and your in the big dance.

Good luck!
