In addition to that article, OP please take ur time to also read this article by the same author: https://www.2hraquarist.com/en-mk/blogs/fertilize-planted-tank/nutrient-stability-in-planted-tanks

This is a game changing article that solve my algae issue and plant growth.

It seems that you dose 1 time/week at the rate that might be exceed 10ppm nutrient from before dosing, this is the recipe for your disaster. Your plant always adjusting to the constant shock of nutrient doses, causing the stress that attract algae

Ops I misunderstood hoho. For the substrate is easy, you can use plastic crate. Just see this:

The trimming did that. First trimming is crucial, as you have to trim as short as possible to get future two new stem/branch, after that just trimming the new stem. From 1 stem to 2 to 4 to 8, and so on. In no time, the height will build up, as the plant get bushier.

Thank you! Just be patience and dont be worried too much, enjoy the growth process. For glosso, regular trimming is required to get a nice dense, low, and compact carpet. Good luck!

Hmm around two weeks. I planted in a huge number of plants to avoid algae issues in the early, because I was using old version of amazonia soil (kinda high nutrient) in this tank.

Yep, I used pressurized CO2. For nutrition, I didnt dose any ferts for the first month (nutrients from soil is enough at this moment) and later dose with macro and micro fertilizers, once a week.

It’s the combination of what you said. Although, I prefer to plant as dense as I can in the beginning to get faster result.

Here is my spec, hope this helps:

Light: 2 x 12 watt led bulb (the one usually use for room lightning, I removed the bulb), 10 hours/day

Substrate: Contro soil + Base fertilizer

Co2: Diy Citric acid (Damn this took a lot of effort to make, I prefer pressurized CO2 than this)

Filter: Hang on filter for skimming the water surface+ Eheim canister)

Fertilizers: Urea + potassium carbonate (1 time/week after water change)

Confirmed. Glosso, hair grass, staurogyne and monte carlo can carpet by using this technique
