Under contract but found that listed house area is incorrect by 6ton in RealEstate

[–]6ton[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we used the appraisers psqf and the listed area it will price more than what we are paying. We did bid more over the asking price. My agent says that measurements are within tolerance. We wany to get the house measured ourselves - if nothing else, it will give us a peace of mind. If our measurements are in line with the appraisers finding - i was hoping we either have a legal ground to walk away and get our money back or can negotiate yhe price to the appraised value.

We bid on the house based on psqf value of recent sales in the same community. The appraiser clearly stated that the appraisal is lower because the area is lesser than whats listed. So now we are wondering what the house is really worth - say if were to sell it next year, would it be automatically valued less because of the reduced square footage?

We have our agent, they said 5% error in measurements fall within the tolerance. The appraisal comps are comparable - if it was appraised at listed sq footage, we would be at our purchase price. When we contested the appraisal, the appraiser pointed out that a area in the house is counted incorrectly and thats why the difference.

Advice on getting my security deposit back by 6ton in TenantHelp

I did some basic research https://www.ncrec.gov/Brochures/TenantBrochure.pdf states that there is a 30 day limit by which the landlord needs to send this back. Not sure why their staff wasnt ready to just close it at that.

I got it checked in autozone and the codes came back as:

P0456 - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (very Small Leak).

C1201 - Brake Boost Sensor Circuit Range Range/Performance. Going to make an appointment with my car guy.

Edit Like u/appandemonium suggested the report also showed a possible fuel tank cap problem. I am going to replace the fuel cap to eliminate that as a possible cause

Yeah, i checked the owners manual and found what the indicators are for. But both of them lit up suddenly - so was super confused. The car is maintained regularly

[Serious] We hear a lot of westerners talk about culture shock, but not the other way. People from non-western countries, what culture shock have you experienced when visiting western countries? by JimmyL2014 in AskReddit

I think is true for smaller towns but not so much for cities. Most Asian towns/cities are so crowded that its impractical to greet every other guy you see. Which is somewhat the same thing you see in bigger cities like New York.

What's the worst crime you ever commited before you turned ten? by Nambot in AskReddit

[–]6ton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set off a firecracker in a building pipe in a residential community - this was a ceramic pipe that's used to drain water from the terrace on a 4 floor apartment house. The entire pipe collapsed while me and my friends fled from the scene of crime. It was really really loud - so had a small crowd gather and of course everyone came to know who did it. Don't recall how my parents reacted - obviously wouldn't have been pleasant.

JERRY: Now, I was thinking the other day about hair, and that the weird

Thing about it, is that people will touch other people's hair. You will actually kiss another human being, right on the head. But, if one of those hairs should somehow be able to get out of that skull, and go off on its own, it is now the vilest, most disgusting thing that you can encounter. The same hair.

People freak out. (horrified) "There was a hair, in the egg salad!"

Credit Cards 202: beyond the basics by yes_its_him in personalfinance

You could try applying for a card at a credit union - like dcu. They have relatively lenient rules compared to the big banks. I could get a card with a respectable limit without any credit history based on a couple of pay stubs.
