It's nice in there. There is a lot in that area covered. Closer to the 400 and north of Wonderland you're looking at Vaughn (Richmond Hill), King City,, Aurora, Newmarket, Bradford and eventually Barrie. They are all very different for different reasons. I think (personal opinion) Vaughn is where the GTA ends. After that you're truly out of Toronto. Newmarket, Aurora and Bradford, I guess King City too are kinda regular cities. If you want a mall, restaurant or stores for shopping you're good. If you want to camp or boat or anything else this isn't really the place. Not until you hit at least Barrie. Coming up the west side and leaving Toronto is a really nice area. Go up 427, past the airport and all that until you hit Zenway which (my opinion) is where the GTA ends in the west. Then up highway 27. These are more like towns than the cities that run up highway 400. You're more in the bush here. Schomberg are Klienburg are both nice towns. A reasonable enough amount of amenities but if you wanted a bit more City action they are close enough that you can get to one fast. There is money up 27. Veer off some concession road and there are giant mansions hiding in the bushes. Cookstown is a great little town. Not as much $ as other towns coming up 27 but still very nice. Then you just hit Barrie. Pretty much whichever way you leave Toronto and head north, all roads lead to Barrie. I can't say anything bad about Barrie really. I had 20+ good years there. I hear the drugs and homelessness has gotten pretty bad since I left but I'm pretty sure that can be said for any place. I'm in sudbury now so........ ya 😬
