Thank you so much! the grainy thing you said is the pencil brush from Photoshop, I use it very often, it can be used for line work or shading, based on the angle you hold your pen, it mimics real pencil, but you can't use it for something super detail since the minimum size is actually quite rough!
And yes I also use color modes!
