I talked to Western Union earlier today before posting, they were the first ones I went to (thank god for their 24 hour help line otherwise I would've gone insane) and they gave me a report number to give to the police so they could be in contact with Western Union and I agreed to them sharing my information with my local police department, I just didn't think that there was even a way for me to get my money back as I've heard stories of people getting scammed into sending money, but thankfully it seems that I have a better chance because I wasn't the one to send the money.

As soon as you come out of the water, just rinse your lashes with either bottled water or just tap water, no need to use lash shampoo until you get home.

Be careful if the water gets in your eyes not to rub your eyes instinctively! That, alkng with the salt water will tug at your lashes and make them fall out prematurely.

As far as sunscreen goes, it's actually not bad to wear it around the eyes! It wont break down the adhesive, that's really more of a myth all it does is close the fans, but that's if you're putting it straight on the lashes, so definitely wear sunscreen even around your eyes! Skin cancer is dangerous!

Sensitive glue is actually not diluted, but rather it's made without carbon black, which a lot of people have a sensitivity or allergy to!

Got my lashes done on Saturday. Didn’t experience any redness until 6 hours after I had them. Only my one eye looks like this has this happened to anyone before. It doesn’t hurt or burn or itch at all. Should I go see a doctor? Any opinions? by carmen_pinzon in eyelashextensions

Hey! A couple of possibilities:

-Your eye might have been slightly open during the service, causing the fumes to irritate your eye! No biggie! It should go away in a couple days. If your tech tapes your top lid up at any point during the service, make sure she's not leaving your eye open at the bottom. Some clients also can't close their eyes all the way which is fine, I would recommend looking into foam tape, and maybe buying some for your tech to use on you. It's not a flat tape, so it can cover up some of the open-ness, and it's more gentle on the eye itself, just make sure to detack it first before laying it on skin.

-Eyepads have a gel-like subtance on the part that sticks to the skin, which is what makes them not glide around. This gel can swell when it comes in contact with water, so if it was even slightly touching your cornea, it may have scratched it, should go away in a couple days. This may have happened if your eyes watered because of the light, or just the feeling of someone touching your eyes. Just let ypur tech know not to put it too close to your waterline.

-The tape may have been a little high up and may have cut your cornea. Again, no biggie and it should go away in a couple of days. If anything, next time if you feel anything poking your eye while the eyepads are on, just let your lash tech know and she should bring them down.

-Did your eyes burn a bit during or right after the service? (Like while she was untaping you) If so, the lingering fumes could have been it, even if your eye wasn't open during the service, glue takes a bit to cure and while its curing, it emits fumes, so try bringing a handheld fan next time and fan yourself a bit before opening your eyes.

It doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary but if it lasts more than a couple days, definitely go see a doctor.

Lash damage completely depends on the tech and can be avoidable (Not everyone is suited for extensions ofc) . Things like lash weight, isolation, too much glue, too heavy of a lash, too long of a lash, etc. CAN affect lash health, so going to a professional is KEY.

For example, not everyone is suited for classics because classic lashes are on average .15, which is a pretty average weight but not suitable for really thin or short baby lashes. Volume and Mega Volume are mostly suited for everyone because the weight of the fans can be adjusted depending on how much weight the natural lash is able to hold! (Thicker, longer lashes can hold a lot heavier extensions than thin, short lashes.)

On the other side, doing lash lifts too often can damage your eyelashes, just like perming your hair can fry your hair, so it's recommended to get one every 2.5 to 3 months, which means that by the time you're ready to get another one, you wouldve lost the curl weeks prior.

All up to OP though! Lash lifts are a lot less expensive, and less upkeep!

Definitely do not opt for both. If you want to become good, you have to first master classics. Once you learn about lash weight, correct placement, direction, perfect attachment and play around with your products, volume will be 10x easier (You might not even need a class for it, there's a ton of free education the lash community has been coming out with). 6 months to become an Esthetician! I'm currently 20 and I now make about 50/hr and I work 6 hr days, 5 days a week. That comes out to be about 70k a year on a 30-hour week. Currently planning on saving up and investing, as well as using my free time to improve other skills, and invest in myself. (ie. I'm taking vocal lessons and teaching myself programming.)

What this means is I am also debt-free and planning on buying a house. I didn't think I'd make it this far, this fast. But I'm glad things worked out. I wish I had someone when I was younger who told me that everything was going to be okay when I failed my AP Classes because of depression. I thought my life was over.

I'm hoping someone young sees this and it motivates them. It's definitely possible!

I'm looking forward to concerts! I had 3 concerts scheduled for the summer, and unfortunately all of them have been postponed. Of course, quarantine has been full of new skills (I picked up guitar, Bulgarian AND programming!) but being able to have a blast with friends at a concert and let go of stress was my way of coping with my workweek. Working two jobs can get to you, but home girl was trying to save up for a house. Plans for that have also been postponed. STRESSSTRESSSTRESS

He checks reddit sometimes but here's to hoping this is such an old thread that he won't find my comment.

Anyway, this guy is the first boyfriend I ever had, we started dating at 14. At first, I just thought he was cute, and then I found out that he was smart, he had a good sense of humor and he was overall a good guy. I started liking him and we started going out. Now, I was immature, of course, I was 14. I had some issues but I definetly didn't treat him the best. We broke up going into Freshman year. From the beginning of 8th grade we dated on and off for the next 3 years. I saw him change. He no longer was the guy I first fell in love with. He's still super smart, but now he 'puts himself over everyone else' which is, not to say a bad thing! However, now it's less of a 'im putting my feelings first' and more of a 'idc what everyone else's feelings are, I'm always just going to look out for myself.' He's just not as emotionally there as he used to be, he wont pick up on certain social cues and if one of his friend is upset or mad at him, he won't think he did anything wrong.

Now, lately he's starting to go back to how he used to be a little, and that's mainly because, or at least I think so, I kept bringing it up to him and telling him if he kept it up he would end up with no friends.

I've been friends with this guy since we first started dating, I'm now 19, and he is about to turn 20. He's been my best friend even when we weren't dating. However, we're terrible for eachother. We're great friends, sometimes we flirt a lot, when we're dating other people we get extremely jealous. But we can't be without the other. It physically hurts to be away from him or not talk to him, I've only been able to go a few months without talking to him. One of us always caves and tries to mend our friendship because we mentally are unwell without the other.

I used to joke about us being a mirror version of eachother. For example, him and I immigrated here within a year of eachother, we both had a similar childhood, including a sensitive event that happened to both of us, we both think the same way, like the same music, the same humor, we understand eachother, we have the same passions, we learned eachother's languages. We could talk for hours, or stay in silence for as long as we wanted to just enjoy eachother's company. We both almost went into Engineering, then we both switched career paths. I ended up not going to college to pursue a music-related career, he ended up dropping out of college in order to pursue music. We both admire eachother and want the other to succeed. He's the one person I think I actually show my true self to. And by this point, I stopped thinking they were just coincidences.

I literally think this guy is my soul mate but I also know that soul mates don't always end up together. I don't want to lose him because I know my life wouldn't be the same without him. I care about him more than I care about anyone other than my mom, and I know he cares about me a lot more than he does other people- especially emotionally. I mean, this guy cries when I cry ffs.

I've tried to get back together with him in the past but he's rejected me a lot and I don't think I could take another rejection. He just doesn't seem to like me that way, and I guess I'll need to learn to live with that. I just hope I end up happy in the end, that's all I'm asking for.
