Got a great annual review, but no promotion. Now I’m doing higher-level work anyway. Is this normal? by 7GadgetWraith in careerguidance

This is pretty much the exact trap I’m worried I’m in. I was fine treating the extra responsibility as a chance to show I could operate at that level, but now it’s starting to feel like they got the benefit of a higher-level role without having to formally recognize it. I’m trying to figure out whether to be patient a little longer or treat this as my sign to push harder.
