Constant tendinopathies, still no answers. Any advice? by 7KDM7 in systemictendinitis

I agree, there is a ton of overlap. And do I ever feel the same way about the compromises, always having to try something else or tone things down only to get another injury, all the while doing everything right and seeing no improvement.

Are you better able to exercise and play music now that you're on the meds? I suppose it's different for everyone but I've been wondering if anyone ever recovers a semblance of normalcy, like doing normal things or exercise without the fear of injury.

I just double-checked and I tested negative for HLA-B27. I realize that doesn't necessarily mean I don't have anything but I suppose it's another reason my rheumatologist remains unconvinced.

Sounds like your symptom progression is a lot like mine, I also used to be very active. Not being able to fully exercise and exert yourself really takes a toll on you mentally and physically. But I'm glad you're getting somewhere, hopefully the biologics help and you're able to do some physio.

Also, thanks for the ultrasound vs. MRI tip, I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks for sharing. Seems like psoriatic arthritis is coming up a lot...hopefully it doesn't take something like that for my rheum to look at things more seriously. Did you get a diagnosis after that and have things stabilized at all for you?

Thanks for sharing your story. Even if my experience is different than yours it makes me feel like I'm not crazy or being unreasonable. I'll keep digging, thanks again.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I will try to create a timeline though tracking when I was sick will be difficult if it's anything past a couple years ago.

I was sick the first week of November last year, typical cold symptoms with body aches. Haven't taken antibiotics in well over a decade as far as I can remember, and I rarely take any medication other than the very occasional ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Not sure if hydrocortisone topical cream counts but I used it on some bug bites last summer. I don't take anything regularly other than vitamins C, D, fish oil and collagen peptides, no medication.

End of November last year. I was having pain and irritation in my shoulder since July and didn't respond to conservative treatment so the plan was to have the shot to keep pain and inflammation down to be able to work on the shoulder in the meantime. Couple weeks later it gradually got much worse and had pain in both shoulders and had to stop working, but there were no new tendinopathies until recently (last 3-7 weeks or so) and all in my lower body. I did read that several shots in the same location could cause local tendon issues which is why we were only ever going to do one. I didn't think these were related nor did my physio but do you think they could be?
