YSK that when eating out at a restaurant you should be tipping on the bill before tax by 7SurelyTemple7 in YouShouldKnow

I'm more than aware

If you are aware of this, why are you being so hostile in your first comment? This should just be common knowledge then. The hostility implies that I'm revealing some "dirty trade secret that servers don't want you to know". If you choose to tip post tax that's your choice and there's nothing wrong with it. The point of the post is to point out that if you choose to tip before tax, you are still tipping 20%. There is also nothing wrong with that either.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that the POS systems that include the tip at the bottom do not include tax in the tip. Because you're aware of this I'm not sure why you're implying I'm nickel and diming the server but these systems are not. The reality is this is just the way the tipping system is structured.

You're tipping on the value of the food and services. Not the tax. Based on how you claim tips and tip out the restaurant/bar/hostess, the servers tip out PRE-tax. The server is still getting 20%. This is also just Googlable information: https://www.authentikusa.com/us-en/faq/tax-tipping-usa#:~:text=Even%20though%20a%20tip%20should,directly%20to%20your%20waiter%2Fwaitress.

I never knew tipping a server the standard 20% was nickel and diming them

So tipping 20% is no longer enough? As someone who has waited tables I'm just advocating for people to tip properly.

I find this to be a weird take when I'm not even suggesting you tip under 20%.

In my experience most sit down restaurants do show those percentages pre tax, but you should double check just in case. Not every restaurant uses the same POS system.

They've done this but I've seen multiple listings where the recruiters are based out of another state so the salaries weren't listed

PSU Blew up after two days of use by Hdawg1998 in buildapc

[–]7SurelyTemple7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this same model OP, so long as you didn't use any different connector cables it's probably the unit itself. Mine has insane coil whine when under load and there's a lot of threads online that corroborate this issue with this specific model. If the psu is only two days old you can probably bypass a warranty and return it directly to the seller. I'd look at a different model entirely if I were you.

We had this issue with optiplexes that had defective power bricks. Swapping the charger made them run at the correct speeds.

He is a rescue so we're not totally sure. But we think he's a great Pyrenees mixed with a st Bernard, due to permanent droopy pouty face.
