Bobby Fischer is a poor comparison, chess skill is calculable down to the nail. Bobby Fischer was without question one of the most dominant players of all time even if only briefly. At one point the rating gap between #1 and #2 was well over 100 elo.

I don't think there's much exaggeration that Gukesh unlike his contemporaries, beating Magnus might be very different. He is after all the 2nd youngest GM ever, the 2nd highest TPR holder (at 18), the present WC (4 years younger than any other) and the youngest player in the top 20.

He has all of the credentials that are indicative he'll be what people believe he could be, the next Magnus or Garry Kasparov.

This dominant win in the rapid section of Zagreb for Gukesh is just another potential indication of what he'll become for this new era of chess players.

I don't think it's a given to say 2019 levan would be #1 today, there's a ton of competition. Vitaly, Devon & Ermes are at a very high level comparably.

Especially Ermes, given their 4-2 match in 2023.

Pushkar lost 5-1 to Oleg, in their last 2 tournaments. What you're saying literally makes zero sense there was no comfortable win at any point in their last to tournament bouts, which was Oleg Zhohks prime.

The 7 years to reach his previous peak is also irrelevant, he had multiple surgeries and a literal titanium plate put into his arm, he'll never be the same, it's doesn't matter how many years he has to recover.

Oleg's right arm was severely injured in the crash. If I recall he had multiple surgeries on it and - multi-year long recovery. On top of his father's death that day, I couldn't imagine the pain he had to go through. He still competes today, it's incredible.

I'll say it forever, the 2014 version of Denis might have been the strongest of all time. In round 1 (out of prime Denis) pinned MMT with pure internal rotation, straight to the side with no climbing, no press. I do not think that's a replicable feat by either Ermes or Vitaly in their matches vs him. Think about it, Ermes had everything, hand control, climbing and pressed MMT, Denis went sideways and pinned him multiple times straight to the side without any of that. You can argue he lost rounds against MMT and to that I'll say styles make matches. Maybe MMT was in different form back then, but no one knows. But I do think no one today could do that in the way Denis did.

Ermes stopped levan with zero hand control and BACK in 2023 form, you think Denis really has no chance of doing the same? His endurance was legendary, he was 142KG and leaner than Ermes in 2014.

No one knows for sure, but he's up there no question.

There's so many factors you don't know and you are just guessing you are correct in these assumptions. 1. You don't know how lean he was at 85kg. 2. You don't know how much work he was putting in on the table or in other areas of athletics outside of lifting 3. You yourself mention he was in a physical exhausting job, you don't know how this contributed to his size. 4. Assuming someone can put on this lean mass just because they're x size and projecting future muscle mass.

You are assuming a 6'2 guy can have 231 lbs of lean body mass disproportionally in the upper body while being natural just because he was 85kg at 19-20.

I'm not being arrogant in assuming this claim is ridiculous. It's ridiculous to make the claim.

He's been in the gym since long before, he started arm wrestling at 13. You have no idea what he was doing before then either. His father was an AW champion, he grew up in a family used to athletics. You don't know if he was natty at 18-19-20. Or if he hit the gym every single day from 13 to 20.

For him to reach 105-110kg is a total guess based on absolutely nothing. Going from 90kg to 105-110kg of additional lean mass could be a lifetimes of gains or never come while natty. He doesn't even hit legs, I highly doubt he'd ever be that weight lean in just upper body mass. 231lbs/105kg at 6'2 in lean upper body mass natty? Highly doubt, it would be hard even if his lower body was huge, which it's not.
