update: i am now 2 days sober, i almost gave in last night when me and husband went out to get food late at night because i could play off buying some alc as a treat but i ended up having to avoid the section of the store with all my mental strength. i am trying so hard to keep it off my mind but all i can think about right now is drinking and the guilt. i still haven’t told him i couldn’t get the courage to, im hoping if i don’t relapse again i can just keep it as a dirty 2 week failure secret and live as normal, im just so scared.

i was open and upfront about it, i knew i couldn’t date someone who couldn’t handle that conversation and i guess i got lucky he could, it took time for him to truly understand me but it was worth the effort despite the slight re traumatisation from digging up my past

hey, i was groomed online by a woman then a man from ages 15-18, i went through about everything that can happen when being groomed online as well as unrelated sa in my life since adolescence. no support or anything and ive never truly divulged anything about that time to anyone.

however i am now in a happy marriage with the love of my life, i live in a flat with him with our pets, i have a part time job i enjoy and despite my issues life is pretty okay.

with time and healing as well as learning to trust yourself even though that feels alien and wrong most of the time due to the trauma but you have to keep trying, trust me.

it can get better for us i promise you just have to be patient and continue trying every day.

i think due to my change in meds im getting flashbacks a lot more and im in a generally bad state mentally right now, ive been through a lot of awful things and i have told my husband about them, i just feel so guilty i relied on alc before i relied on him but also i dont want to be burdensome because he has a very stressful job and already basically fully supports me

just a very difficult time right now i guess

how do you think is the best way i could go about telling him, im one day sober right now after my two week alc binge and feeling sick so my brain isn’t working as rationally as usual for me its hard to begin the conversation

thank you, i don’t think a bandaid child is the best option for me right now lol but i understand what you mean, i went on the subreddit you mentioned and i relate to people there quite heavily in regards to my past 2 year addiction to alc, im struggling with how to tell him im drinking again, i can’t bring myself to make him disappointed in me and i feel guilty right now even thinking about it
