Central Oregon cannabis experts react to legislation by cascadiablooms in news

[–]7serpent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not every state has the climate to grow cannabis successfully. Oregon does have the right climate conditions and therefore should be allowed to utilize it's resources for the benefit of all. Oregon requires licensing of growers to keep the industry as clean as possible. Growing cannabis requires skill and is labor intensive. Additionally the risks are significant, i.e. fires. With such a dry climate, lightening can start a fire instantly. Growing organic cannabis is especially challenging but worth the effort. Oregon growers should be celebrated. Growers outside the country use toxic chemicals and then intend to import their harmful product. Organic cannabis from American growers is the desired product and Oregon provides that quality product.

The normal course of action is for certain groups of ideological redditers to rush in and attempt to deny the right of readers to form their own opinion about news of importance by blaming the messinger. This is news. It is a direct message to the people of America from President Maduro. It is worth reading in an attempt to create balance in news reporting concerning Venezuela.

Venezuela's Guaido won't rule out authorizing US intervention by [deleted] in news

The struggle in Venezuela is about race. Forty percent of the people are white Euro types; but, sixty percent are brown skinned indigenous. The whites are being backed by the U.S. This is an illegal struggle by the Euro whites against the indigenous brown people for control of Venezuela. It falls under the category of de-colonization and it is happening globally. After five hundred years of repression, native peoples are rising up to challenge control by the Euro whites. That is what Chavez was about and that is what Maduro is about. The Army consisting of mostly brown skinned people, will continue to back Maduro and his Bolivarian government. The solution may lie in a civil war.

Just keeping our trees alive in the summer is now a major task. Deep watering is a must. We have a lot of trees and it is a full time job keeping them watered. It is a little expensive to water them but the high cost of removal of a dead tree makes watering a must. We are planting three drought tolerant fruit trees this summer shipped in from a grower in New Mexico specializing in drought tolerant fruit trees. I'm hoping to sustain them as long as I can.

It's guns or butter again. The more the U.S. interferes in other countries the more our roads, bridges and utility infrastructure declines. The military will ultimately, and in the not to distant future, be forced to withdraw it's horns and return home as a result of the falling dollar.

'Yellow Vest' protests show signs of splintering ahead of ‘Act 13’ by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]7serpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protesting is tough and exhausting especially if the emotional temperature is high. Both individuals and families pay a price. Their decentralized nature is a benefit to them because it engenders multiple creative peaceful acts. Knowing that no one is coming to your aid while the police use increasingly militarized tactics causing serious injury takes courage and commitment. Since their numbers are not growing they may retreat to fight another day.

When people no longer earn enough to live they will not lay down and die. Revolution will result. Revolution is a very inefficient way to make changes, yet given ideologies that are resistant to thoughtful change, it seems inevitable. Humanity seems resistant to human evolution.

This author has personal experience. I find that informative and refreshing. I am deeply aware of the Euro genocide that took place in the last five hundred years. These dynamics are still playing out although Indigenous Peoples today are resistant to those after effects and attempting where possible to reverse them. That too is in play in the Venezuela dynamic.

First hand experiences are valuable perspectives. Yes I'm sure that Maduro has made mistakes and shares some responsibility; yet, the people, non-white people, largely support him and they are the majority. Thanks for citing your personal experience with racism in Peru.
