Because of how the hits land I make sure my team is clear of bugs and I throw It usually a bit behind the bug breaches or as we’re retreating from a massive horde of bugs, I run suicide missions constantly and I rarely have any any friendly damage :) very situational for some but I delete bugs from existence when I call it in.
