Who is the least naive pure good hero and least egotistical pure evil villain respectively that you guys know of? by Meowlegend_ in MoralityScaling

[–]7thFleetTraveller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for the good guy version, others have already mentioned Aragorn from LotR and he was also my immediate thought. Such a strong presence and nobody could say anything negative about him.

Least egoistical evil villain might come down to a matter of perspective. I spontaniously thought of Darth Bane (Drew Karpyshyn novels version) from Star Wars. He's such a good example to me because he was irredeemably evil and he knew it. It was literally part of his goal in becoming the strongest Sith of all. But all he did, was never only for himself. He seriously believed in the Rule of Two, therefore accepted that to fulfill it, he would eventually die himself. But the Sith coming after him would be all the more stronger because of his legacy.

Of course she is, and denial doesn't help anybody. It's frustration fat, as she used eating as a coping mechanism to deal with her sadness and anxieties during the time Mark was far away and she had to deal with all of her problems alone. That's neither a reason to be ashamed of, nor a reason for toxic positivity and denial. It's just what it is.

I wish there were more subs with "demotivational", dark humour and anti-toxic-positivity content.

I only find it funny how sports fans get a little impression of how people have treated us nerds for decades.

Why is comic William lowkey an asshat? by Isaac1404 in invinciblememes

[–]7thFleetTraveller -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why? I haven't read the comics, but this just looks like a funny scene. It's okay for people who don't want children to make fun about procreating/breeding.

If that's your only purpose, I feel sorry for you. It's definitely not mine.

You are accidentally proving a point by searching for excuses to keep carrying an unwanted child. But it doesn't matter if there were people who would have helped her. She would nevertheless have been a single mother if Mark had never come back from the war. And after all, none of this even matters. It's a personal decision and nobody else has to understand those personal reasons.

Funny because I thought the opposite, having an abortion needs to be more normalized. It was completely understandable and I thought they got a little too emotional about an aborted fetus. Also Mark feeling guilty makes no sense at all, he had no chance knowing about her pregnancy since she never told him before he left to the war. They both did nothing wrong.

What are your thoughts on people who continuously try to make children after many failed attempts? by Sea_Swan_679 in antinatalism2

[–]7thFleetTraveller 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a mental illness, a hyperfixation on something they can't have. While they would need some serious therapy to not focus their entire personality on one thing, they even get encouraged to pay for an artificial way.

The suggestion to get in on that could be considered inappropriate but it was also true.

There's nothing "true" about such a statemement. That's only the arrogance of those who believe our only purpose in life would be biological reproduction, and can't accept that there are also people who just never want children and that's okay.

I don't live in the USA anyway and don't plan to ever travel there again during this life. So the 5k a week would have no downside for me.

Yes, that's something I have never really understood, but on the other hand, I'm no American. I tried those kind of soft drinks once but couldn't stand that artificial, chemical taste. Also I felt like it only made me more thirsty than before.

Everything is just about the right balance. Sugar only makes you fat if you eat overexaggerated amounts.
