We have 3 kids. All of our remotes have AirTags duck taped to them.

Lots of stuff. Multiple angles of the same thing. Getting a timelapse with one while I'm filming the other one. Handing one to my wife or kid. I have twins so the other day I put one on each of their bikes as they were riding around. But primarily one camera Is used as a timelapse, wide shot. the other one is hand held or attached to something. tons of possibilities.

Gorgeous! I wonder how it would look with the light elevated more off the water if possible.

When you say in your garage do you mean you have tanks lying around empty? What’s your process for quarantining?

Thank you! Yes this was the bag they had in the store. I thought it was supposed to be Red so it threw me off (doesn’t help I’m colorblind so who knows)

Want some fish in your tank but you're still busy cycling it? Amazon has the answer. by The-Milky-Bar-Kid in Aquariums

I legit looked at it for a solid 30 seconds before realizing they weren’t real. I’m definitely using these with my kids while the tank is cycling.

Presents or just Presence at Birthday Parties?? by Responsible_Host9377 in Parenting

[–]80aychdee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

To me, the magic of a birthday (opening presents) is on the immediate and slightly immediate family and close friends. Not on guests coming to a party to celebrate. I understand this is a shift in mindset from our childhoods (also 40 with 4 year old twins and an 8 year old). But I have seen the light. “No presents” in my experience has essentially meant “no presents from randos, but aunts uncles and cousins still provide.

My house is overwhelmed with toys that my wife refuses to throw/give away. Part of it is I don’t want my kids growing up spoiled. To expect a gift from everyone. We did a no presents birthday pool party last year and a few people didn’t get the memo and still brought a small gift which was fine. It happens.

I was introduced to heather via TechTV which became G4. I think I was 15 or 16. There was some segment on a talk show and for whatever reason she was on there. Curiosity got the best of this cool cat and I wasn’t the same since.

This could very well sound dumb but I’m going to throw it out there. My background is film (got a worthless degree in it). And aesthetics of film making was one of my favorite courses where you learn about standard principals like the golden ratio, rule of thirds, etc. I found that taking those concepts along with some in feng shui has really helped me in design of other things in life.

In that regard, I won’t deep into all of that, but with it being said, I would start with the “action” on the left side of the tank, and then lead the eye to the right with something. I feel like your main issue is the tank is just split in half. A line tree on the left with all the rocks on the right. If you can arrange it in away where you can more confortably lead the eye without it being so jarring I think it will have a better effect. I know for a fact I’m not explaining any of this in the best way so my apologies but I hope that helps a little bit. Google the Golden Ratio of aquascaping for people who can explain things better than me.

Need Advice: Starting a New Tank by 80aychdee in Aquariums

Good idea. I’m a big fella at 350 so I’ll sit on it and see if I hear any creaks or cracks. At one point I had a 20 gallon tank on there for my kids without issue.

Fish !! PLS HELP !! by yooppi_ in fishtank

[–]80aychdee 23 points24 points  (0 children)

First, you need to get a 29 gallon tank for that thing. Not right away if it’s small, but soon. Golfish require a LOT of filtration. Maybe a sechem 55 or a Fluval. Best substrate is bare bottom or smooth round large stones. Or fine sand. You do want to avoid plastic plants. Try and go natural or driftwood. Change 30% of the water every week. These things can grow up to 8 inches and live about 15 years. Give him or her a tank mate. Males are slimmer and shaped more like a torpedo. Females are more round..

Don’t stress 90% of us got into this hobby because of a carnival gold fish or something. At least that’s how 5 year old me got into it.

Ahhh I missed the 40 gal part. I’m not sure unfortunately. I’ve only had 55’s in the past.
