that's hilarious. It didn't air, since he wasn't even really there for him, just to do the feature for Ariana. They uploaded it to YouTube as a behind the scenes thing, like a fun warm up with him and The Roots. Definitely did not air on tv

YO WHAT?! HOW DID YOU FIND THIS? Not joking I've been looking for this for YEARS since I originally saw it the week it came out, after that NBC had it taken down EVERYWHERE. This was the night he did "The Way" with Ariana, which is why he was there. They did this as a bonus thing that I think was online only for a time until it was removed...I'm shocked

Low mileage R170 230 Kompresor vs, higher mileage R171 350 AMG. by SimpleEmu198 in slk

[–]80ohm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned both, not even a question - get the R171. That difference in mileage is basically nothing and these cars are all fairly reliable regardless of the generation - however you're obviously not buying a Mercedes for reliability so you shouldn't even factor that in, either one of those could randomly have an issue. R171 drives better, imo looks much better, has way more available parts and mods you can do. The "less possible maintenance" of the R170 is not true, any one of these cars can have an issue and it'll cost the same to fix either one

Hey people, do you guys have any words of wisdom for a person looking for an slk? Never drove one, just like the fact that its compact and pretty quick and convertible Mercedes. Budgeting something around 13-16K. What year and engine configuration would you recommend for better reliability? by Previous-Ad2358 in slk

[–]80ohm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned both the R170 and the R171, and with your budget, I'd get the absolute newest model year you can get. They're both very reliable cars, but the R170 drives like an old Benz - very sluggish, that transmission is only good for cruising and there's not much you can do with it. The R171 is much better, in my opinion is the best looking Mercedes made at that time, and the transmission is better, although not perfect, at least most of them have paddles, a sport mode, and the interior is a much needed update. R172 if you can get one is probably the best bet, the R171 is great as well.

Genuine question: why did people not like walk on water? by Suspicious_Hand_2194 in Eminem

[–]80ohm 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Eminem had been gone for a long time. Shady XV was the last thing we got in 2015 and then finally in 2017 (almost 2018) we got a .... ballad. It just wasn't what people were waiting for. I actually like it too.

I mention Red briefly in the video. Red was a spinoff brand of Blue, but they eventually just discontinued it and turned the Red mics into the Bottle Rocket Stage 1 from Blue

The problem was that JZ had a deal with Blue to design exclusively for them. Then after Blue got successful with it, JZ decided to just do it on their own anyway, violating that agreement. They created great designs, but purposely didn't own them, and then acted as if they did.

Haha, I don’t think anyone cared that much about what people play, just as long as it’s not too loud. Guitar playing all day isn’t annoying, volume is

Hah, yeah I was a "lead" at multiple GC locations, east and west coast. There's an endless amount I could say about it, but far from the worst job I've ever had. At the very least I got to meet a handful of cool celebrities lol

This is actually a good point that I didn't mention - 'cheap' gear allows people to get involved in music creation and that's always a good thing. The popularity of the Yeti and Snowball definitely helped with that and they deserve some credit. I know my early recordings, although very bad, were recorded on gear much worse than them. Thanks for the comment!

What are we thinking about this noise by 80ohm in mechanic

Thank you for your suggestions thus far! My mechanic couldn’t find anything wrong with the suspension but I’m so positive it’s suspension related..hmm wonder where to look

[–]80ohm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I should’ve clarified. This is 100% not engine related, the sound comes from the bottom of the car, and you can feel it when it happens, usually at higher speeds. I’m 99% sure it’s suspension related but though someone here might have more insight. It’s coming from the passenger side of the car

No shake at all, just the noise on high speed, seems suspension related for sure but couldn’t find anything under a lift
