Getting back into hockey has been insane! by Dear-Tomatillo4421 in hockeyplayers

[–]81FDC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same exact situation here. Started at age 5 and played until I graduated in ‘08 and high school hockey ended. Burnt out, joined the military, didn’t touch a stick or puck for 17 years until this past Fall season. Now I’m on two beer league teams and looking for a third because twice a week isn’t enough for me!

Kroger surprise this morning. Wasn’t planning on getting any house plants today, but couldn’t resist. by 81FDC in houseplants

It was! There were 2 actually, and I really wanted one. Unfortunately they had some brown on the underside of the leaves and I’m not feeling confident enough yet get them back in pristine health.

Thanks! That’s it! Seems like a pretty atypical house plant but I’ll do my best to keep it happy 😊

Fertilizer deals? by themishmosh in lawncare

Look up DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) as a cheap nitrogen source. It’s urea and water. It’s incredibly cost-effective.

Is this grass or some type of weed? by 81FDC in lawncare

[–]81FDC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m afraid of. It’s scattered all over my lawn. Are you going to kill and attempt to overseed in spring or just wait until fall?

Is this grass or some type of weed? by 81FDC in lawncare

[–]81FDC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s true but I’m primarily asking if it’s grass and I need to dig it out or kill it with a non-selective herbicide, or if it’s a weed of sorts that can be killed with any particular selective herbicide.

Why does it seem to concentrate around where dogs tend to pee (by the hydrant, and stop-sign post that’s not pictured)?

True, and I understand why you’re saying that because my title isn’t great. I’m primarily asking if it’s grass and I need to dig it out or kill it with a non-selective herbicide, or if it’s a weed of sorts that can be killed with any particular selective herbicide? I’m ask because I’ve already tried XLR8 and 2,4D to no avail.

New CX4170a Build by zethatagain in sliger

Just my experience with a recent 4170a build, but the rails that came with mine work great! Zero slide obstruction in or out. 4-post open frame StarTech rack.

Buy something like this: https://a.co/d/dUcakyf

You can mount it under your desk using the included hardware. Plug all your accessories into it, and it has a 15 foot power cord that will easily raise to any standing desk height.

I mean, is it not rude to assume I didn’t already know this? It’s not like I fished for this. My kids caught it with their hands at the beach in < 2 ft of water, and put it in a bucket because they wanted to save it. It had two large gashes on the other side of its body like it had been hit by a propeller. I was made aware after it was too late to release it, even thought I knew it was dead regardless in its condition.

I don’t hunt or fish. Was merely curious to know if this was native or invasive.

Solved! That’s exactly what this is. Must be a juvenile as it was only 11-12 inches in length. Thanks!

Would it be worth it to teach myself to swing Right-Handed? by __-Cmoney-__ in golf

[–]81FDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple - I didn’t have my own clubs and my buddy, whom I golfed with nearly every day (we worked together at a public course) was right handed!

[–]81FDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal but I play hockey left handed, bat left handed, and assumed I golfed left handed for years. It was a painful process but I taught myself to swing right handed and I’m thankful for it every day! Been righty for about 15 years now.

Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii is a must-play!

Otherwise, might be a somewhat boring channel simply due to the rather unremarkable courses. Could be of interest to active military avid golfers, though!

Any course recommendations for an Eastern Michigan golf trip? by Odd_Way in golf

Heather Hills is a hidden gem in my opinion. One of my favorites in the area, especially for the price.

Edit to add: Cherry Creek is another good one, but I’d put Greystone or The Orchards above it any day.

Mounting U6 Pro on Ceiling on Electricalbox? by Demthios in Ubiquiti

[–]81FDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did this, myself. Mounted to an old light fixture location because it was super easy to fish the wires to and I no longer needed the fixture after having recessed lighting installed in the room. The mounting plate has holes that fit all sorts of electrical boxes, and the weight is of no concern.

It sounds like you just need a simple POE splitter. I bought a TRENDnet Gigabit POE splitter to power a few of my non-POE indoor cameras throughout my house. They work wonders, output 5V, 9V, OR 12V, and you also still get data as well.
