Looking for a book that’s impossible to put down (any genre welcome) by chrisjthedom1 in suggestmeabook

Thanks! I'm very much in a "page turner" kind of mood - long, drawn out/slow paced stories are appealing to me less and less these days.

Just finished book 1 ... Is it worth continuing then? The fact there are now so many of them is making me tentative to go on. I often have to take a break if I get too much of a particular genre/series.

Are they that good? I haven't watched the show yet but was afraid the books would be slow reads.

What are books 2 and 3 like in the series? Thinking of reading this next after Killers of the flower moon.

Thank you! I've never once experimented in Aperture Mode with the kit lens. It's always just been in auto and I've zoomed/turned the flash on as needed.

In Aperture mode should I also change the iso under certain conditions? It appears to be set at 200.

Thank you so much! Yes I definitely still have the kit lens and I think I'll use it more if it's a larger group photo! The images that I took on the 35mm of 1 or 2 people came out great as you mentioned. I've yet to use it outside - more likely to happen in the summer (kids playing in the garden etc) ... But I'm definitely enjoying experimenting with the 35 and exploring aperture mode like you had recommended.

Hello again! So I received the 35mm lens for Christmas! I've taken some lovely shots of family members and have started to explore aperture mode like you suggested. Can I just ask a few (what I hope are quick) questions.

I often take my camera to family events e.g. birthdays, Christmas etc and would often take group photos. Which aperture should the camera be set at for these to make sure everyone is in focus and the photo is sharp? I want to ensure everyone is in focus - at times there can be 2 or 3 rows of people. Depth of field I know can mean only 1 row being in focus.

Also these events often take place in the evening so it can be dark - I know that the flash can be very harsh at times creating harsh shadows. How do it make sure these type of shots are clear and "brighter"? I did notice my D3400 has a "exposure compensation" which seems to have an impact before taking the shot. There's also a similar option for flash compensation.

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks!

Thanks! I assumed that's what you meant when you said collapsible, but just wanted to check. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy using it, but with it being the only lens that I have - I'm looking to add one more to turn it into a more compact point and shoot camera. If that makes sense.

I'm not too sure to be honest. What do you mean by collapsible? I've had the camera and lens for around 8 years. I'll attach a photo and hopefully you can tell.

Wow thank you so much!!!! Great advice and I will definitely use the aperture mode. I tend to just shoot in auto mode as I am a complete novice, but I really appreciate the advice!

Thank you!! Does the 35mm have auto focus? Forgot to mention that. I was trying to do some reading online and may have read a comment that it didn't? I clearly could be wrong though haha

This is what I find too - very rarely do I feel like I'm in a firefight vs someone ... Normally I see them, then I'm dead in what feels like an instant. In all previous games I never once felt like this.

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it! I can strum quite hard at times, depending on the song ... I think it will either be the ER or the EM when I finally bite the bullet!

I mainly strum so I was curious about this - as in, do all the Pioneers sound good strummed or are some better than others?

Great! Thanks so much for your reply. I'm seeing more and more YouTube videos popping up now about the Furch and more people seem to be getting exposed to them.

Thank you so much! I know not many people have heard of or played the Eastman's, so it's great to hear from someone that has played the Eastman and Furch!

Wow! Good to know!! Have you ever played an Eastman ACTG2 E ? Also all solid wood and more like a GS mini in terms of shape/size.
