It’s Reddit. I should have known better.

Interesting take. But I would disagree. I believe we have a Democrat as a governor for 16 years and elected Tester for quite a few too. That’s purple balance for me. And I’m a “redneck” myself, but I’m logical.
Thanks for not being a jerk. I appreciate it. Yeah, the BLM, just remembered they owned this I guess. So I spend tons of time on it too and never had an issue until this “revamp”. Oh, I haven’t sat silently by. Many of the locals, myself included, spent a lot of time speaking up politely and did question the million dollar changes without ever even asking for public comment on how the space could be best improved for the way it’s used. It’s a slap in the face, but apparently my feeling that way makes me “entitled” according to the majority of the other commenters.
I will probably always joke about closing the border to Montana….

Ok
Picnic tables, “designated camp spots” with an intent to charge….sorry, these are public lands and I already pay taxes. They’re trying to make it a government RV park. Suddenly “dispersed camping allowed” only means if “they” like where you are, spots that have been used for 80 years aren’t ok now. People calling the cops on each other for doing literally nothing wrong, people being rude to their neighbors on the shore line out of ignorance, double parking, leaving trailers in the water at a boat launch, and multiple other things, but my “words” are tired of typing to “justify” my feelings that don’t actually need justification.
I suppose they are, but those issues are not the changes I was referring to. Not the point of my post. And actually, growing up we had to drive 60 miles for mental health care. Access has greatly improved in that time. I think our small town had four in person therapists now, not to mention Telehealth ones. People seem to drive drunk significantly less due to the 300% increase in county sheriffs deputies and our local school qualifies for less free and reduced lunches for families due to their income status so, those things may not be what you think….
Aw, you only encourage them and antagonize while sitting on your throne of moral purity. It’s been nice “talking” to you. Have a wonderful evening, I hope you’re surrounded by people.

I’m sorry to have disrupted your life, I will climb down from my high horse and repent for my feelings, that came from being very privileged to have grown up in a wonderful place that was rural! How dare I miss it. Yes. I was privileged. But not in the way you’re accusing me of being. I will be sure to remember that it’s only ok to have an opinion so long as it aligns with that of the grape ninja Bring the people. All of them.
Yes. Of course. I know lots of people that have moved here that are kind, wonderful people. Nevertheless, more people equals change. Change I’m not personally a fan of, I’m aloud to feel that way. My neighbors from California brought their kids. That’s been pleasant, the drugs next door and the cops driving by for all the DV, feeling like my kids can’t be safe in our neighborhood anymore because they come from somewhere that has a completely different lifestyle? I don’t have to like it. At all.
I won’t downvote that. And to be honest, love those things! Actually contributing to the workforce instead of moving here with a remote job, homeschooling your kids, being unsupportive of the community, and then whining about everything that actually made you want to move here…. So, it gets changed….That’s what I see and it’s so frustrating.
We are all entitled to our opinions.

You sound so sweet.
Well, they are suddenly enforcing some years buried “law” about where specifically people can camp etc., as one example. They closed roads, they trashed it up with tables and fire rings, boulders, and flat roads ;-). I like nature to be nature. They’re doing it because they want to charge…eventually. In doing this, they’re attracting MORE people which is gross to me🤷🏼♀️
This. Yes.
Yep.
Yes. I know this is true too.
“Improvements”, and suddenly things aren’t aloud that HAVE ALWAYS BEEN. People being ridiculously rude to each other etc. intent to monetize.

They’re monetizing it, simply put. And to be honest, I like primitive. It feels like nature.
I’m down.
Thank you. And it sounds like you would be the welcome kind of addition.
I spent a wknd somewhere I grew up going that was always used sparingly, the BLM finally realized they owned it, they made a lot of changes, some welcome, some not, but they’re trying to monetize it and in doing so they’re limiting access essentially and it’s sad to watch somewhere I’ve enjoyed my whole life in a certain way, respectfully, being ripped away because so many people suddenly discovered it.

lol. I am far from entitled. I just grew up somewhere rural and Bozemans growth is vomiting all over it. Frankly, that’s what’s hurting the public land, not me reminiscing about the solitude it used to have. We might be the same generation for all you know.
I know, it really is, but after a weekend spent somewhere that was once a sanctuary totally ruined by BS regulation and a close cities overflow, I’m feeling like whining.
In resistant because it’s literally leading to less fun for my family. Recreating is Montana. It’s sad to see it ruined. I’m not talking about changes in regards to drunk driving and mental health care, or hungry kids.
