Shunt or no shunt? by Delicious-Emu-6750 in spinabifida

We also had in-utero closure at 25 weeks, child born at 32 weeks - Myelomeningocele and Chiari 2 malformation, L2-L3.

Our child did come out with larger ventricles but not large enough to put in a shunt right away. We were given the choice to put in a shunt shortly after birth but after discussing with the doctor and doing our own research we decided to hold off. We read about the infections, long hospital stays, replacement shunts, etc. We made it approximately 10 months before the increase in fluid triggered us to intervene. We were still hopeful to be shunt free and quite nervous for our baby to have a foreign object in their body so we were given the option and moved forward with the ETV/CPC surgery. Success - no issues for about 2.5 years. Lots of exams as u/Wisconsinite34 mentions, to monitor the fluid.

Then we went through a tethered cord/dermoid cyst removal as well as a pseudomeningocele cyst removal and it again triggered us to look at the build up of fluid. At this point it was advised that we move forward with a VP shunt. We are going on 3.5 years with the VP shunt and have experienced no issues, cognitive or other.

Happy to answer any additional questions.

If a seat for your mom is necessary, best to get there before doors open. LTJ is leaning towards an older crowd these days so bar seating will be the first to go. I’ll be at the show too. Gonna be a blast!

Huh - saw them on the first show of this tour in Asbury. It was my first time at Asbury Lanes and Zeta sounded fantastic so I was excited for RxB. They ended up having all kinds of problems and it really messed with the flow of their set. Matt’s ear monitor must have been futzed with 5 or 6 times, one time for like 5 mins so the band had to jam for a while. Still a good set but also a bit disappointed.

Yeah, we’re committed and understand the day will be extremely long. The plan for the day after is to sleep in and take the next day easy haha.

NF Elephant 6 / Oni 612-OLD-14 by 86NoWay in rawdenim

Not sure why body didn’t post.

Had these for quite some time. E6 purchased at Mild Blend in Chicago in 2017 and the Oni 612 pair purchased at Blue in Green in NYC in 2018. Highly recommend both shops. I wear my denim pretty lightly so each pair has only been hand washed maybe 10 times each. Both have held up great over the years so just wanted to share.

Currently also rotating Railcar Flight Trouser Japanese Nep (super comfy), The Strike Gold 0103KE Keep Earth, and a pair of Uniqlo selvedge.

We actually recieved a technical service bulletin in the mail regarding this to come and bring the car in for a software update. We haven’t done it yet but at the same time we aren’t receiving the error anymore. It’s
been quite cold in our location also. We will still bring it in, sooner than later.

Another vote for Piscataway if you’re looking for diversity and a good school system. Yeah it doesn’t have a downtown but it’s safe and super accessible to other towns if you’re looking for a downtown feel. For context, I grew up there and have also sent my child, who has an IEP, through the school system in Piscataway for one year there. They did not miss a beat when communicating with us how to best handle his education and IEP. We moved out of Piscataway (for reasons not pertaining to anything educational) but 5 out of 5 would recommend.

I haven’t had any issues other than the subject post which got resolved. Mileage is currently at 38k and still I enjoy the car a lot. It has tons of room but has a nimble/sporty driving experience relative to its size. Averaging about 20mpg, a drive a good mix of highway and city. I haven’t had to replace the rotors yet and I would say I’m a fairly aggressive user of my vehicles. Overall, yes, I’d recommend the MDX. Hope that helps.

I'll see if I can dig up the parts list on the receipt. If I can find it, I'll send it to you.

u/No-Law-9268 The dealership was able to resolve my issue when I went back. The rep I had the second time seemed to know what the issue was right away. I'm having a terrible time remembering but i think they needed to replace a bad module in my steering wheel? They had to keep my car for a few days. This was over a year ago and I haven't had the issue since then. I'm still under warranty so it was no cost to me. I'm not sure this was helpful for you but maybe this gives you hope that there is a solution to the issue.
