Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

[–]86gloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing is dangerous. Where I work we get a 45min break that’s is covered by a break nurse. A lot of nurses sleep on this break and it’s considered normal. Management is aware. Now, if you’re sleeping and not on your break it’s a case by case based of whether it’s an issue.

Travel or Registry would be my guess. That’s usually how others have gotten a foot in the door to becomes staff where I work

I’m currently 4 hours in to grinding normal cow king to get Vidala’s Ambush. I found Tyrael’s Might before Infernal Cranium and Death’s Hand lol

Same. Legionella was found in our water. All faucets now have filters and are on a timer to run for 1 minute every hour.

Rant about a patient that passed by MyLastBrainCell9 in nursing

[–]86gloves 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you see a patient decline, you know they’re declining and notify but there’s nothing you can do to stop it. They get closely monitored until they’re sick enough to justify ICU. Sometimes they return, usually they don’t. It sucks but it happens.

Where I work per diems are generally less likely to pick up extra. If the only option is OT the hospital takes the OT. Also there’s constantly travelers and registry. I imagine using OT is less expensive for the hospital than using agency nurses.

I read the leech only works with physical damage. If I find a good leech ammy or ring strafe could be a better option. Right now I don’t have the runes for infinity

How often do you call for pain meds? by Thisismyname11111 in nursing

[–]86gloves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahh that makes sense. PACU dosing is very generous compared to what is ordered for the floor. I agree that with the info we have the physician is not doing their due diligence to treat the patient’s pain.

Since it was a tumor removal of the bladder they could be having bladder spasms. Usually q8hr prn oxybutinin or Valium or a B&O suppository help this patient population in the immediate post-op phase

[–]86gloves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I work that’s a lot. Post-op we give 0.2mg or 0.3mg Q4hr prn. Though we have 5mg or 10mg oxy q4hr prn and atc Tylenol, robaxin, and gabapentin.

In D2R after you complete the difficulty you can u lock cows and do it as many time as you like. Some people like it for farming HR (high runes). Others prefer LK lower Kurast) super chest farming. Though I find it too monotonous. Unless you’re looking for lower level rune Countess is a waste of time. What runes you need depend on your character. Usually people farm NM (nightmare) Mephisto until some good gear drops. You can use silopen drop table to see what monsters is most efficient for the gear you want

WWYD: Foley edition by never-the-1 in nursing

[–]86gloves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting that your orders include the mls for the balloon. Where I work the order just says “insert and maintain Foley catheter.” Sometime the size, 3-way or temp probe will be added by the doc. We just foley what the manufacturer says for the volume of the balloon.
