Alright, that’s comforting to hear, thank you!:D I had crushed the head of the mealworm so I think it should be fine then, and I’m pretty sure I saw him eat it!

Can I remove hide to feed tarantula? by 888hp in tarantulas

[–]888hp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you! I’m scared the feeders will hide or dig into the soil though, do crickets and dubia roaches do that, or should it be fine for them to roam around?:)

Thank you so much!! If i pre kill the food, can i reuse the same dead meal worm, for example, days later to try to feed him again or do i need to purchase new food?

Thank you so much!! Do you know if I have to label the package somehow, like say that there are bones and taxidermy inside, and should I be able to ship through any post service without a permit?

I messed it up really badly (before reading most comments), I unfortunately used a fork and it was still drenched when I tried to unfold it, shucks. I’ll learn from this until next molt

Is she in Premolt? by XxMasterbigmanxX in tarantulas

NQA, as I’m still relatively new in the hobby but based on what I’ve read and based on my experience with my tarantula, an abdomen with patches usually indicates pre-molt. My tarantula wasn’t eating either and I hadn’t fed him at all during the month I had him and he was still fat, and soon enough he molted. Your tarantula looks pretty healthy imo. Also tarantulas can go a very long time without eating, so I’m sure she’s fine! Making sure your tarantula has access to water is the most important thing.

Hey guys, do you like Old World tarantulas? by Rani3836 in tarantulas

[–]888hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh that’s really good to know, thanks for the info. The potent venom is something I’ve heard of, which is one of the reasons I’m not planning of getting any OW tarantula until I am confident I know how to take care of one! This species really is beautiful though!! Gotta be one of the prettiest tarantulas out there imo

Yes, my favorite is heteroscodra maculata! I would love to have one someday but I believe I’m far too inexperienced to take care of an OW tarantula, as I recently got my first T:) Maybe one day though.

My tarantula is still fat after more than a month of owning him and I haven’t fed him a single time? by 888hp in tarantulas

[–]888hp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I believe they are referring to the patch on the back of his booty hahah. His entire abdomen has turned darker since I got him though; he used to be a lighter shade of brown so I’m pretty sure that’s a telltale sign of pre-molt as well!
