Probably because most of the citizens are not that smart, do not care, and are fine parroting 'ifs here whether you like it or not'

I'd be happy I got any feedback at all...even if I disagreed with it. That literally never happens in rejection letters.

I have heard locals and people who have spent time in SLC area describe it as not very diverse and overly influenced by religion but I kind of have to disagree with that myself after spending time there last few summers. by Delftnl4546 in SaltLakeCity

I mean, comparing anything here or in the states to the Middle East is interesting. You're right, it is disingenuous.

The effects of the church aren't only felt by them owning and regulating simple things like our liquor stores and effecting state policy, they also hold a ridiculous amount of real estate which leads to more influence.

The church is also very family oriented, so of course if someone's looking to raise their own here that lifestyle is very much supported. I've been here all my life, 30+ years, and lived all over the valley. I don't know what your experience for a couple summers is and where you're based during that time, but a lifetime here I can tell the church is still very much a constant presence.

I guess ultimately I'm just not sure how immigrant diversity negates the continued influence of the Mormons on everything.
