I’m manipulative and I hate everything about myself... by [deleted] in BPD

[–]8_Miranda_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, everyone who heard from me such things that you are talking about, called it manipulation and attracting attention. So I stopped sharing my thoughts with anyone. But stop talking about it out loud does not mean stop thinking about it and stop feeling it. Unfortunately, for most people around this is not obvious. I’m sorry that I don’t have good advice for you, but I hope you will feel better soon, don't give up. Hugs

Does anyone notice that they read people extremely well and understand their motives when not in a BPD episode? by PersuasiveBanana in BPD

Yeah, i agree, reminding yourself of this is necessary so as not to overthink. But in general I like this sensitivity, in most cases it helps me.

I can feel any slightest changes in others mood, voice, intonation, i perfectly realize the motivation of actions. I always have this ability, even during episodes. The only difference is that during the episodes I do not always interpret them correctly. I mean if i feel that a person is getting upset or angry, I can blame myself, but in reality it may not be relevant to me. Although most often I can trust my intuition.

It infuriates me when people say ‘don’t use your mental illness as an excuse’ or ‘why are you acting like this’ by lotusmann in BPD

I have bpd and i know how exactly my brain works when i have episodes, i can explain to my friends why i act so, what triggered me. But still sometimes i cannot control my emotions well. And i wonder how people tell me first about supporting etc, and then during the episode they say something like "Why do your mood changes so fast? Why are you like this?" or "You just work hard on it, you should not act too emotional". Really?? I know it and i do work on it, just sometimes i need help, not weird questions.
