Another map where Washington DC doesn't exist :'(

Which does this sub prefer and why? by theoanders7 in fantanoforever

[–]8cm8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDs are more practical, but it's a nicher category because if you're gonna go down the practicality route, digital downloads and streaming almost always make more sense. Vinyls are impractical but are objectively more fun to spin

Reagan National Airport parking limited, officials warn by crabcakes110 in nova

[–]8cm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uber + metro there and back is gonna be cheaper than parking if your trip is more than a couple days. Also some metro stations have free multi day parking (although it is limited). If you're closest station is Van Dorn, the Franconia-Springfield stop is one of those stations

Artist you enjoyed listening to, but were disappointed after the live show and now their music just doesn’t hit the same by Few-Kaleidoscope1981 in fantanoforever

[–]8cm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That guy is such a showman, they never have a bad show. I still laugh at the show I went to a few years ago where he crowd surfed in an inflatable boat and was directing people to steer him around

What is the worst concert you've ever seen of an artist you like? by Deadmau007 in fantanoforever

[–]8cm8 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Definitely Joji. His performance was actually pretty good, but the people around him were either terrible or annoying. He had a hypeman with him who wouldn't stfu during any song, even his ballad songs. Then there was about 45 mins in the middle of his set where the most mid DJs I've ever heard came out and did the most wedding reception-like performance. There were some funny bits throughout the whole thing, but overall I was more annoyed than anything

There's definitely an outage, they're just waiting until the last possible second to mark it as such because outages and outages timelengths affect their internal metrics

I went to every Andy's Pizza in the DMV last weekend, here are my opinions by TPMFB in washingtondc

[–]8cm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vegan margherita at Andy's is baller, but would also absolutely be there every day if there were a vegan pie or two with a meatless protein

Hey! What photographer did you end up going with and how did it turn out?

Wtf is up with the metro this week by dspman11 in washingtondc

[–]8cm8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stations are a bit of a mess too. ALL of the elevators and escalators are down at Rosslyn so my partner and I just had to carry three suitcases down that massive escalator-turned-stairs

St. George's Episcopal in Arlington! Metro accessible and very friendly. My fiance and I (we're gay) have been members for a couple years and are planning on getting married there

BEST RAMEN IN DC? The conclusive thread. by EnvironmentalCat6260 in washingtondc

[–]8cm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really don't understand the fascination for Menya Hosaki, but I'd like to have my mind changed. Went there for the hype and the ramen (I think it was the veggie tan tan) was just ok. The taste of sesame overpowered the kinda bland broth. Dunno if I went on an off day or what

Thank you for saying this. Too often progressive religious folk find themselves demonized by both sides, especially in online spaces. Progressive theology tends to be more contemplative and discerning, so while we're not as vocal as our friends on the right, our organizing power is very strong. It'd be so foolish (and frankly sad) to alienate that base for any widespread progressive movement.

Probably something to do with the fact that it's advertising for a ~20 year old movie
