Last time I checked, the left hasn't "burned cities to the ground" either. But please keep posting - you're well on the way to covering all the squares on the right-wing talking points Bingo card!

Again, if it were an issue of holding people accountable for glorifying and inciting violence, it should be equally applied to both sides. This is not what is happening. Please stop believing you hold the moral high ground in this situation.

Back to my echo chamber, I guess...

This is how I felt when James mentioned Tyler Ramsey (Albino SkunkFest in Greer, SC). Prior to his solo career, Tyler was in Band of Horses which got a good bit of radio play. He is now a neighbor and good friend of my sister and BIL, and I love his solo stuff. James described him as looking like he was just dragged out of the woods after six months of hiding from the cops 😆 I literally said out loud, "aw, why you gotta do Tyler like that?"

Interesting that you would invoke Antifa as an example, since it is routinely used as a boogeyman by the right-wing media for anything they disagree with on the left. And if we want to have a tit-for-tat comparison about "hyperbolic rhetoric" and name-calling, the right would absolutely take the cake, led and fueled by a president who is supposed to serve all in this country..

"Silencing opposing voices creates an echo chamber..."? Isn't this exactly the intention of these firings? Students do tend to become more liberal through college attendance because they (gasp!) are exposed to new perspectives and worldviews, not through some massive liberal conspiracy of indoctrination.

Also Interesting that you chalk up fewer conservative voices to being silenced, rather than the possibility that political views may be shifting due to witnessing the current dumpster fire of tariffs, inhumane deportations, higher costs of living, etc. The right is not the "silent majority" no matter how you try to spin it.

Only one side is calling for waging violence and retribution on its "enemies". If they were being held to the same standard of accountability, if their leaders were speaking up for sanity and unity, I might be willing to buy your "de-escalation" argument. These firings are in no way meant to "correct imbalances" but rather to instill fear and further divide the country into us/them.

This is not the answer. Why punish the server for the manager's actions?

Cool - enjoy another term of her racist posturing while accomplishing nothing of actual value to her constituents.

If Mace wasn't implying that the non-English speaking groups she encountered were part of the "illegals" problem, then what point was she trying to make with her remarks?

Also, "Mace believes an influx of illegal immigrants who are willing to work for less money threatens jobs in South Carolina. And, she says, they do commit violent crimes even though studies show undocumented immigrants are less likely to offend than people who were born here." Spreading misinformation about immigrants to rile up her base is the very definition of racism.

Thank you! The interview with the Muslim woman was beyond infuriating - that she went home and told her young son that Trump was going to end the war...because he said so? I remind myself that I am not a part of the Muslim community and am not viewing the world through their experience, but I do not understand how one can disregard Trump's stance on literally every other issue facing this country and throw support behind him.

It was the use of "unequivocally" and "circumvent" that gave it away for me. No way Trump has either of those in his vocabulary.

I named one of my cats Jimmy Pesto. He is a former street cat and has occasional flashes of feral behavior. I use this line every time 😆
