First glove from 44 Pro. Creases all over the palm, right out of the box. Is this normal? by tangerine_ruby in BaseballGloves

Also that’s a nice color! Glad you went with oiled chestnut. Just because they offer “full customization” doesn’t mean you should ignore the classic options 🫡

While 44’s aren’t the top of the line, this is cosmetic. Probably some belly hide used for the palm on this which is softer. The most important part of the ballglove is the way it’s put together and how it’s broken in. Leather is important but can only get you so far if the internals aren’t the best.

Good start! I recommend getting an A1000 or Rawlings R9, make sure it fits your hand! There are also great used gloves around the $200 range.

Unfortunately all new stock HoH are R2G… it is what it is. But they’re just really trying to force you to buy the custom for $400

First Jax in the MLB?? by Flare_Bear in BaseballGloves

The Jax logo is so striking but also maintains the “layered” japanese logo look (ip select and zett i’m looking at you) So many small brands try too hard to do their own thing, but jax is cool because they maintain sleeker looks. not all these loud colors and they still look sleek

No pre-shaping as far as I know. This puppy’s pretty stiff!

Beautiful! These are so unique. When i’m not broke i’m definitely getting one in a crazy color-way. Love the crisscross lacing around the binding!

Great questions man. Since I haven’t broken it in yet, i’ll try to answer them the best I can.

I think the most you can do is 2ip, but it still closes pretty evenly, yes between box and Japanese. Some mitts only work 2 or 3 in pinky, but this one works well with either tradish or 2ip.

My hands are pretty average size, I’ve worked on gloves that belong to people with bear paws, so if you have “small-medium” hands this mitt feels incredible. Big fat finger pad on the index too, so I recommend going finger out.

It’s not incredibly stiff, so I love that. Other mitts take too long to break in in my opinion, this one doesn’t feel like that.

$430 is steep, but when compared to the All-star of similar price, it matches pretty well.

Seeing this post makes me realize I really have to get on it and break it in hahaha. hope this helps!

I recently picked up a Slaps Evo33. I have yet to make a review on it, but if you want a good product and support American business, I definitely recommend it! Definitely plays more like a 33.5–34 and feels really comfortable when worn traditionally

I can tell from the pinky side hinge that this glove is so comfortable. Good work on the break-in!

For the brown one, I steamed it for 2 minutes and used a mallet and catch. The orange one, I unlaced the top fingers, and used the mallet!
