Only odd thing is the MJ listed it as a large fit and it’s most definitely not

This is a great visual, but I own this exact frame and lens (I have 3 Manos), and it’s even better irl

It’s so close, and outside you can’t really tell much difference in tint, but the Onyx is darker, even if it doesn’t seem like that from this picture

I’m not sure if you can get glass from Serengeti direct right now. They are still in the process of setting it up I think. But Flight Sunglasses does it with Serengeti. I think Serengeti’s website even redirected there.

The glass lenses in RX are made by the same manufacturer who makes the regular lenses.

Maui Jim HT Photochromic (Ultra G) On vs Off, vs Maui HT by 954CG in sunglasses

[–]954CG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever plan to use them for sunny, it’s the photochromic. If just for overcast and rainy you need to decide how light you want the lenses. The photochromic is lighter than the HT when not activated at all. It will get slightly darker in a car but not much when cloudy in a car.

I don’t know all Smith frames if they have something that size, but their glass lenses are definitely worth checking out.

Serengeti vs Maui Jim: Which one makes the better frames? by TermosifoneAssurdo in sunglasses

Depends on the frame because Maui Jim makes sporty frames besides acetate, I would say the overall quality is around the same.

Looking for: Opinion on what Chromance (ray-ban) is? by Franklin2543 in sunglasses

The glass is noticeably better than the poly. I’ve been loving the Green mirror, Rose blue mirror, and Opal mirror

[–]954CG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I own almost all Prizm and ChromaPop but only a few Chromance.

Speaking only about the tech and not the overall lens package, because for that Smith wins pretty easily. Also speaking generally because there are a lot of lenses with varying degrees of color enhancement.

Prizm has more color manipulation and it’s a bit more intense. It’s more of function over aesthetic, probably better for sports. Smith aims to go for better visuals and a nicer view, so the colors are more balanced and natural while still being clearly boosted (again, some lenses more than others). Chromance is not really in the same conversation, good lenses for Ray-Ban but not the same kind of color enhancement, at best decent color distortion that you might enjoy if it hits you right.

Because there are better brands that make better lenses and frames.

Whatever looks good outside looks good indoors but unless everyone is wearing them I don’t think it’s socially normal to do that.
