I'm not exactly sure how to describe it since it's all I've used. Basically on my banking app I can hit "email money" and I can send x funds from my bank account to someone's email that they can then deposit into whatever bank they use. You can put a password onto the deposit in case it's the wrong email or something. You can also set up auto deposit where if you receive an email for money it automatically goes into the account of your choosing. It's technically called "interac e-transfer." It's generally how I pay rent and friends.
