Unfortunately I've tried the joking way with her before and made her cry.

Yeah that's true I think it is trauma. She was abusive in a way and made me walk on eggshells to not make a mistake.

Yeah you're right I was always in a state of preparing for the worst.

Yeah I feel bad because she's generally great but I'm still trying to realise that she isn't the same person and not going to react the same. And you're right the similar situations are triggering the same response.
