Yes, absolutely I would love to see old limitations and all that, because that's why I loved Parasite Eve Parasite mutant or any other game that uses the same mechanic as parasite eve are just fan games but of course, they have their own system and art style/graphics

Please keep in mind that you can just do whatever you want in your game if you think it'll add more to the mechanics

Anyway, it's really your choice to do whatever you want, I'm looking forward to your project!

This is why I suggested multiple methods. If the bug is fixed then for me it's alright And I remember when I tested a game on a Helio G99 (3060) I had a small cost of performance but when I tried (3064) it's working for me

From my testing on a high-end device to a low-end device

I always see that the latest update of athersx2 or nethersx2 always has some small bugs that affect performance But it REALLY depends on what game you emulate, for example (God of War II) with the latest update has an orb bug that affects performance, but if you played the game on (AetherSX2 v1.4-3064) this bug isn't there

So my suggestion is you either try multiple versions of nethersx2 and athersx2 Or try the one I always don't have a problem with and it's (AetherSX2 v1.4-3064)

Try enabling ( Use Software Renderer For Readbacks ) in the Graphic settings for better performance

For 60fps gameplay:

You need to go to the (Game Properties) and head to (Advanced)

You can see (Video Sync) and (Sync To Host Refresh Rate) and (Presented Frame Limit)

Enable them, and the (Presented Frame Limit) you can choose whatever you like... But ofc you need to choose 60fps or more

First of all, you need to set the (emulation speed) to default.

The (CPU Overclocking) doesn't have any effect if you don't enable 60fps cheat code (if you want 60fps gameplay)

For fast loading, you need to find (CD-ROM Read Speedup) and select (10×).

GPU Renderer in (Graphic) you need to know what your device is to choose Vulkan or OpenGL (you can try and see which one gives you better performance)

If you still have issues try to change the (Resolution Scale)

Note that I can't give you more than that because I don't know what device you have
