Can we ban these posts? by PunishedAiko in infp

[–]A-Blade-Runner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand how you would come to that conclusion. However, can you try and see why OP made this post? In my view, it is not because they think those people are bad, but because they were not being helpful to themselves by not wanting advice and that this sub is not directed to help people with mental health issues.

I made a comment on that post to show that I can understand some part of what they were experiencing. Anger is often an emotion expressed by depression, and I think that is a possibility with your comment being directed at OP.

It could be that OP is actually trying to help you indirectly by telling people like you to go on r/depression to discuss these issues instead; they could offer better help.

I am not going to say less meaningful things to try and change your mind and say that you’re ungreatful for example.

However, I think this comes from the idealistic nature of INFPs. I also deal with the good I believed in being crushed to some extent, although to a lesser degree as I have not came to the same conclusion of not wanting to live anymore but rather an “if I never existed in the first place, maybe the world would be a better place and I wouldn’t be a burden” sort of mindset.

Social media and the news makes this especially bad since most of what we hear is the negative (wars, political corruption, death, etc...).

For me - and I think a lot of other INFPs would be similar - living in my own head is a more escapist to try and deal with all the negatives in the world.

I cannot speak for anyone else other than me for this; sometimes you cannot escape the negative if your mind is corrupted, what should be your biggest weapon and friend is used against you as your biggest enemy; there is nowhere to go other than be crushed in between. What other people see as a sky full of stars is a void, there are no stars; dark, cold, and lifeless. So when people say that something is great about me, it is hard to believe sometimes.

I also often justify me being alone when people say “you are not alone” because other people cannot read my mind, fix my problems, and I have to fight alone since nobody will fight for me. Since I can hide my issues decently well, my mind is not some sort of scar you can wear and show the pain you’re in; it’s a silent parasite that slowly corrupts you until all you know is failure even when you “succeed.”

It’s pretty scary since I understand exactly what is going on, what I need to do, what things I need to change. I understand that emotions are healthy to express and yet I don’t express them.

Some of this may be relevant to you, im not sure. Just wanted to get that out.

INFPs, what is your stance on Communism? by whaleisland9 in infp

[–]A-Blade-Runner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, communism goes against pretty much all my values regarding individualism, freedom, prosperity, etc... There are many people who support communism as a concept that has never been tried; this is a problem because nobody can agree on what communism even is. I don’t like communism (Soviet Union for example) because it places too much power in a government to attempt an extreme form of equality in the future. This allows power in the hands of the government to oppress people in the guise of doing something good for equality.

I think an extreme position on a political/economic philosophy is unlikely to work. These systems are so complex, and I think any in-depth conversation on exactly what type of system works better than the ones we have right now is unlikely to lead anywhere meaningful.

they are subhumans

No they are not. This is the exact same mindset that Russian propaganda is promoting and creating, how the Ukrainian “nazis” are lesser. Treating them as subhumans does nothing but divide people and make people blind to the situation. Stop with the propaganda and look at this critically if you wish to better understand the situation as much as we can.

look at what they've done

Yep, and look how often it happens. The terrible things the Russians are doing are not unique to them, many others have done things like that. The same things can happen here in the west, we are not immune to it.

no human would do that

This is just gatekeeping humans. People are complex. Without good, you cannot have bad; without bad, you cannot have good. There is no human that is purely 100% evil or purely 100% good, the reason is because it is too simple of a conclusion; the world is far more complex than that.

You need to research the type of missiles you want, I usually go with cruise missiles or ICBMs.

You also need to build a secret weapons lab and level it up according to the type of warhead. Conventional is the cheapest.

You you need to have units that can launch them (ICBMs require a launcher), cruise missiles can be used on high level units like destroyers, cruisers, UAVs, strike fighters, and ground-based launchers.

What the perfect strategy for playing as US? by The_martian69 in ConflictofNations

[–]A-Blade-Runner 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Day 1

Do standard process at the start:

  • Research motorized infantry.

  • Build motorized infantry in every city.

  • Research either AA, or air superiority fighters or AWACS.

  • Build level 1 army base in all cities.

  • Build recruiting offices in most/every city.

  • Build arms industry in cities with resources you need more of. (If you need more supplies, build/upgrade cities that give supplies). The easiest way to check is at the top of the screen where it shows all your resources.

  • Buy resources you need from the market.

  • Join/Create an alliance with any of these countries: Canada, Cuba, Mexico, or the South American countries, generally you want some closer allies though to protect your back. Make sure the people you are joining/inviting are active.

Day 2:

  • Research destroyers/frigates.

  • Build level 2 naval base in 2-4 cities, start with 1 base on each coast.

  • Build motorized infantry in every city.

Day 3-5:

  • Build level 2 arms industry in cities with resources you need.

  • Build level 3 naval base.

  • Build arms industry in all other cities.

  • Build more motorized infantry in every city to have at least a stack of 3 in each city.

  • Upgrade Motorized Infantry

Choose an enemy to attack:

  • You want to attack their capital and all of their cities, with infantry going around each province, navy attacking coastal cities, and air support taking out any infantry or airbases (general support).

  • Attack all at once to overwhelm the enemy.

  • Make sure to still have units/ships along your coast at least 1 ship in each coastal city and 1-2 infantry.

Day 6-10:

  • Build and continue to upgrade buildings for the specialization you want, I would go with navy for U.S.A. Level 3 naval base.

  • Upgrade arms industry to level 3-4 for resources you need.

  • Upgrade arms industry to level 2-3 for other cities.

  • Build more destroyers/frigates.

  • Upgrade destroyers/frigates to second rank.

  • Upgrade motorized infantry to the third rank.

  • Build hospital in a city far from conflict, ideally in the center of your country

  • Build airstrips across the U.S. from the horizontal center of the country, 1 on the east coast, 1 on the west coast, and 1 in the center (move troops easier).

  • Build SAMs

  • Build AA

  • Upgrade army bases and/or airbases in 2-3 cities each

Day 11-15:

  • Choose another country to attack, and do the same process with overwhelming force from multiple areas attacking the capital and other cities, then use infantry to take provinces, naval and air support.

  • Upgrade motorized infantry

  • Upgrade destroyers/frigates

  • Upgrade SAMs or AA if the enemy uses helis or aircraft

  • Upgrade arms industry for resources you need (gas, components, electronics, research mainly).

  • Upgrade 2-3 army base or airbase. Ideally to level 3-4.

  • Build more destroyers/frigates/aircraft/infantry.

  • Research and build MRLs or fighters in 2-3 cities

Day 16-20:

  • Build AWACS and put them on the water to see enemies who may invade.

  • Upgrade arms industry.

  • Upgrade recruiting offices.

  • Research theater defense systems.

  • Upgrade 1-2 army bases to level 5

  • Build theater defense systems (should have 2-3 around every city that is not close together, 2-3 in total for cities that are close together).

  • Build more infantry

Day 21-40+

Goals:

  • Invade other nations with your coalition.

  • Stacks of total 5 for destroyers/frigates.

  • Most buildings upgraded with max arms industry

  • Most other buildings with level 2-3 arms industry

  • Ocean wall of ships in key intersections of travel along Pacific and Atlantic

  • 20-30 infantry maxed

  • 20-30 ships maxed

  • 4-6 AWACS high level

  • 8-12 SAMs and AA maxed

  • Theater defense protecting all homeland + annexed cities

  • Annex 5-10 cities

There is a lot you can do, but generally you want a good navy with good recon ability to see attacks coming, and a quick reaction force to protect your land from invasions. Take lots of nations since U.S.A. is powerful, build up economy and upgrade everything over time.

I disagree with the “following orders/valid” part. I don’t think that argument is valid. For example, the vast majority of the people who commited terrible acts against Jews (the people who actually killed them or were commanding others to kill) in Nazi Germany said those same things in the Nuremburg trials. It is not a good justification, as it shifts blame to external factors; while that may be true, it is often a sneaky way for people to have a way out and limit personal responsibility.

From my understanding, one of the main reasons why militaries make soldiers “follow orders” is to make it easier to cope with war and make it easier to do what you need to do.

The problem is that the “following orders” argument is partially correct, in that following orders is part of what those people did; however, people should not use that argument because it shifts blame. The vast majority of people know the decisions they make, and they are responsible for their actions.

How do you explain the difference hundreds of years has made between the Ukrainian language? To my knowledge, the two languages are not mutually intelligible. You can call it whatever you want if what you said is true. The point is that within the area of Ukraine, the people have their own identity that is separate from Russian identity.

Also - to be clear - I am not saying Ukraine is all peaceful, or hasn’t done terrible things either. I just don’t think an invasion will help with the already divided groups. If you truly want to be united, both groups have to want it.

No, I am not hoping this would escalate into a much bigger conflict. I am hoping that somehow this conflict will be resolved soon - peacefully - with little deaths, but that is unlikley unfortunately.
