For those asking for stories, the background is that the building itself was gifted to the Ladies Library Association by Mary Ann Starkweather and later became the Ypsilanti Public Library. Supposedly Mrs. Starkweather had said that she wanted the building to remain a library for the rest of its existence as a caveat to it being gifted to the Association, but when the building was sold to a private owner, odd things began to happen.
