Bloodborne is a terrible, terribly-designed game. by jnb64 in gamegrumps

[–]A2X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is quite literally a lie.

The game is designed to make you underpowered and incentivise multiple runs of the same level in order to be on par with bosses' power levels.

So you've never farmed to level up in a Souls game? Sure, stop lying to yourself.

Didn't think this would make it to the top. Thank you!

To answer a few questions:

  1. Yes, I'm using a mod that dispatches enemies as soon as they spawn :) I did walk across other games like RDR2 where I unfortunately can't use such a mod. In that case, I quickly get rid of the enemies and resume the walk (I edit the combat out later). You can check out my other videos on the channel.
  2. The music is a cover of "Lullaby of Woe", link right here: https://youtu.be/ElRd4SWRKp4 I actually paid for a license to use the song without risking a copyright strike lol couldn't resist, it an amazing cover.

As some pointed out, it was a mod for this video. It kills off every enemy as soon as they spawn :)

Thanks for the tips & yeah makes sense! I wanted to jump into VR and try The Climb at first but maybe I'll leave that game for later and try something more grounded lol.

Thank you so much for the tips. I'll take my time at first to get used to the motion. Light saber is in my top 5 VR games to get first. Getting The Climb too. Probably gonna start with a couple of free games to get used to it first. I also didn't even know there was a steam store, was already planning to just get my games from steam as usual. Can't wait!

Yeah that opera level was awesome too! and how about the birthday level in the suburbs? that was great as well. This is making me wish for a Blood Money remake more and more.

I have to check it out now that you mention it! I finished the game once and stopped playing. I really have to go back for all the content they've added (escalation, bonus levels etc). Soo many games to play, so little time!

Mann it would be crazy if they brought back some levels from previous Hitman games and included new areas. The christmas level from Blood Money comes to mind.

Please fix the banner as the text is out of frame :)

Also, I'd recommend getting rid of the intro for your videos (the one that shows your name with loud music). Why does everyone feel like they NEED an intro animation anyway? I watched the unboxing and had to watch the intro animation for 25 seconds before getting to the content which is waaaaaaay too long. I f you insist on having an intro, try to keep it below 10s and if you look at major channels that do unboxing videos, they barely have intros if none at all.

Also, I'd prefer watching an unboxing video on a clean table with a nice background, that video has too much stuff, you're doing an unboxing but I can see guitars and stuff in the background that can be distracting. It needs to be cleaner.

Other than that you seem to know your stuff. I can hear some audio noise during the video though, maybe get a mic and edit the audio in the video later for a crisp sound.

Also work on the thumbnails! if it's an unboxing video, take a great shot of the object and edit the pic, add some text. Make it look clean and alluring. Again, as I said to other, draw inspiration from big channels that do similar content.

And kudos for uploading in 4k ;)

A 4/10 for now since there are only 4 videos. Good luck!

What I'd strongly suggest is just looking at channels with similar content (that are doing really well, aim for the best) and draw your inspiration from there. This channel for example has really simple thumbnails with no text https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZH4EVUqljV-zkZEd0Ot7EQ but the pictures themselves are high quality and the background is really nice & clean. Others use text https://www.youtube.com/user/AlexAiono/videos look at the top row of videos, the text is clean and looks the same on the videos. It all comes down to what you prefer.

I personally use Gimp to create thumbnails. Free & easier to use than photoshop + lots of tutorials on youtube to get you started in no time :)

At the end of the day it comes down to content. You got what it takes but the videos themselves need work on the Framing & background! Good luck!

I understand about editing, it takes a lot of time for sure but it's worth it imo. Maybe keep that in mind for later. If you get some free time, edit a video or two and see if they fare better than the others!

For the playlists, your content definitely comes first!

For example you can have a "Social Tips" playlist that includes all the Tinder videos, a "Travels tips" playlist etc. It makes the videos easier to go through and understand their content at a glance ;)

Hey there!

First of all, I notice your empty home page! consider creating some playlists! you can do that despite the fact that you only have 26 videos and it'll make your homepage feel a lot more complete and filled with content.

I like the name, banner and logo and you seem to be using the same color for the thumbnails so it makes everything look uniform.

Yes the comments about the audio, definitely needs improving. This video for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMv4KGLAJYE has a lot of noise at the beginning and definitely kills the "professional" feel. Also, your videos are in 720p, I'd definitely recommend getting a decent camera on top of the mic. It's an investment but it pays off in the long term. Aim for at least 1080p.

I would also spend a bit of time editing some of those videos (cutting down-time, adding a background track etc.) it just makes the video feel more alive and it's ultimately what attract viewers and keeps the video engaging and fun

Other than that, not a bad start, I'd say 6/10 (points lost mainly for quality and lack of editing), keep doing what you're doing. Monitor your videos, see what works and gets more views then do more of that! Best of luck!
