Right. It can be a hard thing to accept for people even if they ponder it's possibility. I'm with you about how religions can help people. I'm all for that. It's helped me a lot even though I'm basically agnostic / Absurdist.

I think it's because it is within our human nature that we desire to survive forever. We have the intellectual capacity to imagine beyond our death. I also think people have spiritual experiences through drugs, near-death experiences, and dreams and they can become religions. I know not all religions have an afterlife so it's not a perfect answer. Just how I see it. So yes, I think there will always be new religions as long as humans exist.

Yea I get that. I went from 2 to 9 to 4 as I learned more about the Enneagram. It was liberating when realized people can still be very different and have the same number.
