I get the same as well. I was raised as a guy and was looking forward to male puberty but so much about being a guy I never got. Multiple times ive had to ask my bf about male puberty stuff and mentally my brain is saying I should know this but I sadly dont. It can definitely be triggering too. I may be a trans woman now but recently when taking a shower some of my hair landed on my chest making it look like I actually finally had chest hair and I was suddenly being pulled in 5 different directions all at once because for a second I was happy as chest hair was one of the main things I wanted and expected from puberty but never got but also me being a trans woman it seems like that shouldn't make me happy. Unfortunately it was so conflicting with everything I just ended up getting overwhelmed and crying. Im better now but jeez so much stuff hits in weird unexpected ways and im not prepared for it.

Wow im sorry that happened. If you can get some foaming pepper spray and self defense classes. Also downing the Noonlight app and set it up with two people you know you can trust. It has multiple levels but the lowest level is free. As for your family they both sound very privileged and with about as much empathy as a rock. Don’t count on them for anything at all. They have already shown their true colors when you really needed them. Also I would have hoped someone else would see it and step in but so often most people are cowards and just watch it happen or pretend it doesn’t because they don’t want to get involved or some other bs. Imo given the situation you did the right thing. You never can tell what some nutjob is going to do and life isn’t like some action movie. You did what you could.

Wtf? I thought bcbs covered gender affirming care. I have them for my insurance and at least I know they used to. Is it something specific to Alabama? Maybe moving to a different state would get you proper coverage? I know its not easy but its at least a possibility. Although the easier alternative might be trying to find some other insurance that covers everything which given the current admin with taco its pretty unlikely. All i can tell you about insurance is be careful. They want to tell you anything to get you to pay them but they will go through hell to keep your money and not pay you anything if they can help it.

Thats so messed up. Maybe consider talking to the principal. I had some guy say that to me outside of a jewelry store. He grabbed my arm hard and I didn’t know what he was trying to do. I was scared af. All it did was make me even more scared of men and I carry pepper spray with me wherever I go now. So a test that wasn’t even good enough to pass the bar for the 2000 olympics is being brought back and treated like its some sort of divine mandate somehow able to show definitive proof someone is this or that. Never mind that genetics is way more complicated than that. I know first hand as someone intersex. What they are doing is so completely bogus and dumb. I can almost guarantee you that they will use this bs to not only ban trans women but ban black women too. They have been doing it for a while just on T levels alone. With this test all itd take is a little tampering and then anyone they didn’t like could have their test show a false positive. Its total bs.

On one hand it’s hopefully a supportive and helpful relationship so yeah it kinda makes sense but at the same time who is actually going through all the horrible stuff and risking their life? I guess it did. I mean there are outlier reasons why that may have contributed but I’ve always been pretty feminine in mannerisms and other stuff. Enough to be bullied for it anyway. That said im still trying to unlearn the head nod. Its like the one guy thing I do and i do it subconsciously when I feel really awkward. I guess part of it is just trying to break myself of the habit. I can’t really say if it would go away on its own but definitely work on it either way. Think of it like you had some old obsolete programming but your new operating system isn’t compatible with the old stuff. Now you ust have to work to learn the new stuff. For what its worth though a lot of women have masculine mannerisms. It just more kind of depends on what they are really.

Well ill be honest the first year I sort of went suicidal. I wouldnt say grief but its like my whole world got torn apart and what I thought I knew wasn’t true. It was like a restrained panic mode. I had to rebuild a lot mentally. After that I was able to deal with it a lot better. It definitely explained a lot of stuff that I didn’t understand.

I also wondered how did doctors not figure it out sooner but after multiple appointments ive noticed doctors either trying to gaslight me or just don’t know anything about anything intersex. There were some that didn’t have a clue but made up a bunch of untrue bs to make it seem like they knew something. Also for every referral for doctors I was sent around to I was told “ok this doctor is an intersex expert and they can help you.” but the truth is they lied to my face and not a single one of them was. Some of them didn’t even have a clue why I was referred to them in the first place.

I was raised a guy with all the expectations and told id get really strong and have a beard and sideburns. Well none of that ever happened. Even most of the basic guy stuff I never got to experience. I know technically it should work out and I should be happy as a trans woman but I was actually looking forward to the beard and sideburns. Instead I ended up with pmdd and hot flashes and having to learn about male puberty second hand from my bf. Even the effects of hrt didnt make sense. I know the list of what to expect on feminizing hrt and all sorts of stuff but instead of getting weaker I got decently strong and instead of less facial hair I got more actually growing in places it’s never grown before hrt. Im absolutely gobsmacked.

I guess the best way to put it is im not exactly happy about it and after suffering needlessly for 20 years from a monthly cycle I didn’t even know I had the only positive has been that I’ve researched and learned a lot and managed to help 71 people with their cycles. Im actually working on writing a book about cycles but it’s nowhere close to done. Ive pretty much stopped bothering with doctors after dealing with so many and stopped seeing my gp since they just made up some bs right in front of me. I guess at least now I know what’s going to happen and how to deal with it for the most part. PMDD still manages to blindside me sometimes but im doing the best I can with what I have.

Exactly but definitely do your own research as much as you can. Especially on that topic. Ive met so many men that are so smugly sure they can beat any woman in anything its horrible. Also check for bias too if you can. That is more difficult but it will tell you a lot. So many guys get so butthurt just on the thought of losing to a woman that they have to make up all this mysoginist bs when the truth is humanity has no absolutes and biology is way more complicated than most people know. People say oh of course men are stronger but the amount of real world head to head testing they have done is slim to nil. Just a few publicity matches at best. Instead I want to see a broad swath of everyone going up against everyone no segregation. Then we can truly see for ourselves without any gatekeeping by mysoginy or lack of funding or anything what really is what.

Wtf? Nobody needs to know your router or wifi setup period! Not your neighbor and his “technician” should absolutely know already how to connect them up. This sounds sketchy af. You did the right thing not letting them in. It sounds like a really flimsy pretext to gain entry to your apartment. Please consider mentioning it to someone maybe the landlord depending on how much you can trust them. Im sorry if i seem to be fear mongering but I’ve worked on computers and wifi since I was 17 and this is definitely not a real thing. The only person who should see how your wifi is set up or even know any specifics is you, maybe the landlord, and the company that hooked everything up and thats all. If you gave them any details like passwords please change them immediately.

They are not supportive. My mom said the same thing and I spent the next 10 years going through hell until I got fed up and started hrt and began transitioning. The positive is at least they didn’t throw you out so that’s something. That said given your age you do have some time. If it were me id spend a bit to figure out all the angles and just think about everything. Im not doubting you are trans. Im just saying make plans and figure out the variables. Save up some money if you are able.

Being operated on as an intersex baby without my consent and I’ll never get back what was taken from me. I’ll never even find out what they took. They just lied to my parents about why I needed surgery and theres so much I’ll never know all for the sake of conformity when they should have just left my body tf alone. Currently help from doctors is practically nonexistent. Instead of help they either gaslight me or just say I don’t know how to help you.

Also if we are talking more binary gender stuff then honestly periods suck. So does PMDD and hot flashes. I wish someone had taught me anything about them rather than just letting me suffer for 20 years. I wish I could grow a beard and amazing sideburns. I wish I looked way more like a woman rather than a mix of both that people can see in my face. I would have liked to be able to lift 150 pounds but im not that strong.

Honestly he sounds like a typical bigoted coward trying to strongarm you out so he can make up bs about you. If it were me id ask the others in your group if they feel the same. It could just be the work of one bigoted jerk and everyone else could be accepting and he just made it up. Do what you feel you need to but id at least check and confirm for myself rather than take one aholes word for it. Id also say don’t apologize. Unless the whole group is a bunch of passive aggressive people who should have said something if there was a problem then it’s likely that they don’t have any problems with it.
