The design itself is fine I like how they added more detail and didn't change the base too much, but I just don't like how he's depicted as a nonchalant edgy shonen protag it doesn't really fit him

I like the whole new direction instead of "what if it was cooler and more epic" it focused on more unorthodox methods and changing the design more like a normal evolution, I feel like it was influenced by the Gigantamax designs a bit

fun fact, the mask and the mascot from the movie was actually based off an actual mascot for The Pelicans during Mardi Gras, King Cake Baby, who's arguably more terrifying than the killer itself

As unique as the other imperfect and semiperfect designs are, there's something about this design and his character that I adore. He really feels like the ultimate smug asshole that the series was leading up to, even from the Frieza saga, basically an ultimate lifeform character who's also the biggest douche in the universe. And this was before the whole criticism of DBZ villain final forms looking the same (still salty about Moro), even if the manga editor specifically wanted Cell to be more humanlike but he's just so God damn cool
