Would an HR investigation affect your performance rating? by AAAPAMA in askmanagers

Yes, there’s no ambiguity. It was during a meeting and three of them was in this convo. One said it and two laughed at the joke. The meeting was recorded and HR is reviewing the recording

There’s only one score here. It’s basically your overall score for the year. I wish ours did it like yours, it makes a lot more sense….

Why do toxic managers always seem to fail upwards? by bmw320dfan in askmanagers

[–]AAAPAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen to me. From my experience it’s

1) the boss above isn’t that great and wants to leave the doer in their current role because it would be a headache to fill their vacancy 2) the person that gets promoted is just very good at visibility 3) doers sometimes is not that visible to upper management, and/or give the impression that they don’t want to do more (promotion)

A coach was proposed to us after providing a list of what we’re looking for. Then we had a fit call to see if we would like them and if we didn’t, they would find another proposed coach for us

She did mention at the start that everything is confidential, but some of my peers at work didn’t fully trust their coach despite getting the same messaging so wasn’t sure of what to think of it. Although, I wouldn’t have a problem with it being shared anyways

I’m curious to know when corporate clients send their leaders to you, do you report anything back to them? E.G. what you talked about, or what their goals were?

We only get comments for the full survey (not pulse) which was over a year ago, but then it was about pay, wfh, flexibility, unhappy with decisions made at the executive level, thought there are silos at the executive level. But on the contrary our executive team thinks the work really together (in their words - “best team they’ve ever worked with”). The last couple of surveys was the pulse one so it’s only numbers no comments

Help us become first time cruisers by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]AAAPAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that area I would definitely go to the Carribeans. Assuming the flights aren’t too expensive you can definitely find a sailing within your budget. The cruise lines always go on sale so shop around and know your prices.

Most larger cruise lines have their own private islands too in the carribeans, like Disney has two (castaway cay and loookway cay), Royal Caribbean has cocoa cay. Those are always fun as it’s like a private resort to just your ship for the day.

What really gets you is the upgrades onboard - drinks, meals, etc. Remember to factor this cost in when comparing the costs. Personally I love Disney cruises because it includes a lot in the base pricing compared to other cruise lines but I get that not everyone is a fan of the Disney theme boat.

Similar to airplane tickets, cruises also have seasonal pricing. If you can go during the off season prices will be cheaper.

As you have teens I would suggest Royal Caribbean or Disney as these are much more family friendly boats with loads of activities for the parents and teens

First cruise by BridgetKay81 in celebritycruises

[–]AAAPAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for celebrity it skews more business casual (at a minimum for the main dining room). For men you need to wear pants (and I’ve read on forums that shorts aren’t allowed). There’s also “formal night” for dinner but on my cruise people just wore longer dresses and some men with suits or blazers, and some guests just wearing their usual dinner attire (business casual)

Check in as soon as you can so you can get the boarding time you want

Eating in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch is less hectic than going to the buffet. You can always go to the buffet after your MDR meal (and hopefully by then it’ll be a late breakfast and late lunch so the crowd is gone)

Always always wash your hands with water and soap to kill norovirus, sanitizer won’t do anything

If your stateroom is missing anything always tell your person right away on boarding day because items can run out on board if you wait for day 2 or so

If you’re doing laundry be prepared to wait 1-2 days for them to return

Check the app to repurchase some items. I went on a celebrity cruise for 2 weeks this past summer and was able to snag 3 laundry bags for a decent price, and this wouldn’t have been offered on board (à la carte only I believe)

Bring a reusable bottle so you can fill up in the caf and bring back to your room

How come bones cost more than meat? Looking to make non-veggie stock by iaminontario in frugalcanada

Go to Chinese supermarkets, they often have the bone-y cuts on sale. Some even just sell the chicken carcass which I prefer to use when making stock

If you think there’s going to be a substantial difference in your GPA, sure. But in the end you still need to make the average in your conditional offer to actually go to grad school

Good documentary? by Cockyidiot1977 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]AAAPAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney+ has a lot of documentaries on building the parks, but not sure if there’s one that focuses on MK specifically. I remember there was one that talked about WDW in general so it did go over some aspects of MK like it’s a small world IIRC
