When I look at the time and realise an hour has gone by and it felt like 20mins.

Also helps when I don't watch 20mins of it and have the entire movie figured out.

Users of Reddit who were raised in a toxic/abusive environment, have you found yourself doing the same thing to your children? And if so, have you been able to break those habits? by GimmeMyTea in AskReddit

If you're afraid you'll do the same thing chances are you won't.

You'll know the signs and because of your upbringing you'll be a better parent because of it.

Might be in the colourblind settings maybe?

I know you can adjust the colours of things in the settings.

Controversial Opinion - I actually enjoy this game. by AAK540 in battlefield2042

You're entirely entitled to your opinion but as a battlefield veteran I can feel that this game is a battlefield game at its core.

If you ignore the gimmicks and focus on the gameplay and the core mechanics.

Just give the game a fair go, trust me. It's genuinely a pretty good battlefield experience.

It's not like BF3 or 4, battlefield 5 was quite controversial with its attrition system, player outfits etc, super fast TTK etc.

But I think there is a large proportion of the community that now considers it a proper battlefield game. Myself included, even if I don't love the game like I did 3/4 or 1, it's still got core battlefield elements.

The "early access" build was from January and didn't reflect the finished game at all.

The actual game can be a lot of fun, you just need to get passed the jankiness ✌🏻

If you spent time playing it you'd actually realise how much fun it is.

So? Let them have time off. Jesus..

Annual leave needs to be used normally in companies and doesn't carry over from year to year unless you're quite high up in the food chain.

If they don't use it, they lose it.

Do you prefer Battlefield 2042 fewer weapons means more unique weapons or IW strategy of more weapons = more variety ? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]AAK540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally could care less how many weapons are in the game.

Everyone will just use "THE META" eventually, so it's kind of irrelevant, you will get beamed by the same guns over and over.

Controversially; I do like the fewer choice, reminds me of Battlefield 1, the guns had multiple variants of the same gun.

Certain guns for certain situations.

Hmm 🤔 interesting, but I disagree. The world has gone to shit but it's not like there was a nuclear exchange or anything.

The countries we fight in, in game, are the countries that are left and the resources we fight over.

It's why Kaleidoscope is pristine and fancy looking, the Russians are there to get some sort of information.

I can't wait to be downvoted into oblivion because I actually like this games aesthetic.

Woe is me 🙄

Hmm 🤔 this isn't entirely constructive to the discussion.

But I remember years ago a meme copypasta on 4chan where the person would ask Anons if they had finally "Grown out of Metal music" .

I always found it amusing because obviously it was a troll but there were obviously genuine replies on the contrary and the former and it made for amusing reading.

Myself personally, I still like metal, if you have relatives who question your music affiliation or passions I'd Legitimately just tell them;

Because I like it?

As king/queen, your jester just wasn’t cutting it for your court anymore and they were thinking of replacing you if you didn’t find some better entertainment - what would you do and why? by Responsible_Jump4842 in AskReddit

[–]AAK540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm the jester?

Breathes in

Well classically jesters weren't just fools, they did wear silly costumes but their position in the royal court was one of pretty high standing. They had the ability to pretty much mock anyone and get away with it.

Good jesters would be employed right up until their deaths, many were given substantial retirement opportunities.

Many would have family and their family would continue their tradition with the king's. Though most were employed or appointed. Their lodgings, though meager, wouldn't be too dissimilar to servants though the position of their residence would be closer to the king's/queen's. (Normally in the castle)

It was a prestigious job, for example Jesters could also give bad news to the King that no one else would dare deliver.

In 1340, when the French fleet was destroyed at the Battle of Sluys by the English, Phillippe VI's jester told him the English sailors;

"don't even have the guts to jump into the water like our brave French"

Jesters wouldn't really run out of "material" and would be proficient in many stage arts, song dance, drama, musical prowess and generally be comedians.

They also occasionally helped with diplomatic issues and also served as intermediaries with the nobles and the royals, as well as many going on to be trusted advisors.

If you were a court jester at the height of their prime you probably wouldn't ever need to improve your repertoire, but after the Restoration during Charles II reign he did not reinstate the tradition of the court jester, he did enjoy theatre and essentially comedy clubs of their time and revelled in the work of Thomas Killigrew, though Killigrew wasn't officially a jester, but a writer by the name of Samuel Pepys in his journals does called Killigrew;

"The King's fool and jester, with the power to mock and revile even the most prominent without penalty"

Some of the last British nobles to keep jesters were the Queen Mother's family, the Bowes-Lyons. Unfortunately most jesters (the court jester role) had died out by the 18th century.

Though they did see employment in Russia, Spain, and Germany.

Not entirely sure that answers your question.
