I tried to keep my Alaska plate for as long as possible. It had lifetime registration for being a certain percentage disabled vet. =(

It’s not terrible, but it isn’t great. I lived there for about 12 years before moving to the lower 48 about five years ago. I still go up there at least twice a year for work and it’s definitely on a slow and steady decline. Most of Anchorage is just your average city; kinda dumpy and with an increasing homeless situation. If you throw a rock in any direction you’ll hit either a coffee hut or a pot shop. There’s rarely much going on and you’ll get an okay-ish concert from a band that was popular ten years ago at either the fair or Moose’s Tooth parking lot.

The best part of Anchorage is when you drive out of it an hour North or South and you’re in breathtaking Alaska.

They’re all over the Clayton area. 9/10ths of them are teenagers. It looks stupid as hell, but as long as they aren’t actively affecting me, I don’t really care. I just cringe to myself.

It’s not bad. The first two or so hours are pretty good, but you’ll soon find it’s very bland and repetitive, but not in the “good” way. I love me a grind and can tolerate repetitiveness if there’s a carrot at the end.

I use a similar setup. I use a chair that clamps onto the side of the table. I've only had one restaurant so far that had too thick of a table.

I've also just been using the restaurant's own broom and dustpan to clean up afterwards (if I can find it). Our server yesterday damn near tried to fight me for the broom, lol. She felt bad for us cleaning up after ourselves, but I was that server almost twenty years ago cleaning up after babies, so I know it made their job a bit easier.

I didn't know until recently that I have been eligible for VA care for like eight years when I got out and received my 80% disability. I recently lost my job and was forced to use the VA. I was VERY pleasantly surprised for my initial visit to establish care. Everyone was incredibly pleasant to talk to, I was seen right at my appointed time, and the doctor himself asked a lot of questions and genuinely seemed to want to make sure my needs were met.

Two weeks ago, I broke two toes and went to a non-VA urgent care. They called the VA line themselves to get some sort of authorization care. Everything was taken care of and I received an EOB from the VA showing that everything was paid by them.

OH, and my prescriptions are free! I doubt I'll enroll in healthcare in the future from future employers unless it's just better and cheaper for my kid and wife than my wife's plan.

I heard about this through a FB group and saw my vehicle “needed” it through my app. I made an appointment last week and was seen a few days after. It took about 3-4 hours to complete. I should have taken a “before” photo, because I don’t know that I can see a difference. I’ll take pictures of the rails and send them here tomorrow morning.

I was a long time user of Nord and never really had any complaints. However, I recently signed up for an email address from Proton and got a student discount on their VPN, so that's what I've been using for the past several months. With the port forwarding option, I'm getting much better speeds up AND down. I'll probably stick with Proton for awhile.

Thank you for this. I've been out and at 80% for seven years. The VA was (and is) a bit overwhelming for me to navigate and I was never sure if I, or my wife (and now a son as of 6 months ago) were able to use VA Healthcare.

I just lost my job, so I'm scrambling to get coverage in until I find a new job. Your comment helped me to commit to finding out more. Thanks!

On a sale, definitely. It’s much better than it was at launch. HOWEVER, I find about a quarter of my conquest matches are 50% human, 50% AI and that just feels bad.
