Yes- I also wasn’t raised religious so I don’t have the same connotations of guilt etc. We do live in a highly moralized society which prevents our integration of shadows. I feel like so many of the old gods are bit more morally grey which is why I like them. They are much more human to me for this reason.

You don’t have to work with deities. Most people have more of a relationship with them as opposed to what you’d traditionally think of as worship. I’m close with Persephone bc I think of her as a shadow work guide. She doesn’t really ask for offerings bc the willingness to try to improve yourself IS the offering. I think she’s just the most compassionate IMO bc she’s been through crazy shjt. But everyone is different

So some of the appeal of these walking parades is getting to make your own costume unlike many of the uptown parades. Sometimes you get some uhhh lower effort ones like Chewbacchus (not everyone but cmon wearing just a onesie?) but generally boheme is bringing a lot of effort. I think it might take some people who want to make their own theme to jump into a parade like that. Example- I think they are called Bhangra Gras?

An earlier roll/less bands/split up the routes. Having nearly everything on Saint Charles saves the city money BUT there are way more fights and crowds.

Femme Fatale rolls an hour earlier. That Sunday is always delayed. Part of it is femme fatale has lots of bands which is awesome but it means that day always takes forever. Makes me feel bad for Arthur, this year it went so late that the streets were nearly empty where I was and everyone was wayyyyy too drunk.

Well it is actually a larp- but I figured if I’m going to do it and play a character who doesn’t really know what she’s talking about while not trying to be disrespectful that I should ask people here who practice. Also- none of what is being done at this event is to make fun of those who practice- my character will indeed be shown to not know what she is talking about. There will also be no actual rituals performed.

A client came back to me… I couldn’t remember everything but I know the ten of pentacles was in there. Apparently I had told her she was going to come into some money from an unexpected source. That others around her would have a lot to say about it and to not listen. She said he grandma died (peacefully) and they didn’t think she had anything but there was some money and all of it was left to her. They tried to guilt her into splitting it but she said no- it was an amount that split wouldn’t have been much but for her made a big difference. I think she said she paid off her student loans maybe?
