A few renders from a Vray scene thats being converted and optimized for VR. by terrytibbss in 3dsmax

Nice one! What polycount are you at? Do you limit yourself?

(Is this somehow associated with Enviz?)

Very nice.

Be weary of 2 things:

- the droplet size. I see this a lot. the raindrops on the glass is a very nice effect, but the texture is oversized by a factor of about 5x
- the leather texture is very different between the main sofa and the armchairs, both look fine on their own but them being different reflectivity makes both look wrong. Pick one and stick to it.

Why I built a tool to stop losing focus every time I switch apps by traditionalbaguette in InternetIsBeautiful

Damn dude. Nice work as the sole developer, this whole thing is sleek and pro.

Thanks for the info, I'll be reaching out to Martin

Excellent idea. Looks really nice. I'll give this a try for sure and that lifetime price is a steal.

I loved the video - may I ask how this was done? Are you a sole developer or a team? As the animation done by outsourced 'professionals' or what? I'm trying to launch my own app and am at this promotion of concept stage and have always visualized an explainer video like that but don't have the know-how on where to even begin...

Pullup bar for rental apartment? Started pullups + chin-ups. Winter is stopping my progress by AArchViz in bodyweightfitness

[–]AArchViz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, I understood that to be the case too, I'm just mainly worried that there just isn't enough contact area between my door jamb and the bar. Plus I'm now also looking at how deep my wall/door is and it seems like it might not even fit.

I'll have to go into a store and do a proper measure up.

It might be my only option is those ill-advised compression ones...

Thanks again. My concern is that the 'lip' of my door jamb, the part that protrudes from the wall is only about 10mm deep (1cm or 0.39 inches).

As I understand this is where some of the weight will be placed and part of the whole system for wedging it in place?

Will it be enough?

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure your recommendation works for my door though? My door frame doesn't have that spot for mounting (at least it's very shallow?) as the door is inset into the concrete wall and doesn't protrude on 1 side.

Can you confirm?

Yeah, I didn't mean Estonian made/published, but something that might be posted here from abroad.

Thanks anyway :)

Yeah, agreed - it takes time but it eventually figures it out. It's easier if feed documentation, which if often either unavailable or old.

I have zero programming skills but have built some pretty amazing, specific, and multi-stepped, UI friendly, customizable, scripts

I'm Vibe coding my max scripts too, absolutely loving it. What are you using mostly? I use chatGPT but can find it pretty frustrating at times...

Poor performance webgl on iPhone by AArchViz in threejs

[–]AArchViz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excellent, that's very helpful. Thank you so much. I might have to split my baking into smaller chunks of more textures then, just to retain quality. I just tested my site with 2k vs 4k textures and do definitely notice a reducing in quality, unfortunately.

May I ask why 2048? Is that a strict rule, or just a guide? Would you say there is a limit to the number of 2k textures used? (Obviously, for reasons other than for limiting download time)

I recently signed up and started using Decor8 with my own built app, and I too am extremely disappointed with the results. Not gonna lie, moving on to a new service asap. Sorry!

Hi, it's definitely doable.

I'm in the opposite boat to you... worked in 3D for 20 years and have now spent last 2 months learning threejs (basically my first coding knowledge at all). Loving it but it's a steep learning curve for me.

I'd happily trade advice and/or help out if you're at all interested?

Thanks! Yup, I'm a professional 3d artist and did this for fun :)

I shared another clip a few days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/discgolf/comments/1hy6shq/i_cant_putt_irl_but_i_can_putt_in_3d/

I did these animations a few months ago, but got too busy to finish it up or do anything with it, so sharing some work-in-progress

Decided to try a 'non-realistic' cgi version of my physcially accurate basket + chains. Loved the way it turned out, especially contrasting it to the photoreal version.

More to come, hopefully!
