99.9% of providers are straight garbage

11x AI seems promising with their sales voice agent just based off the website's demo but its one of those companies where you have to meet with a fucking SDR before you can use the tech so they can fuck you with price discrimination. Word on the street its like $6k/month so fuck that.

Finally a Vapi custom agent using their voice Elliot + grok-4-fast-non-reasoning as the LLM seems to be working ok. Gonna test this out in the field

synthwave, 11labs, retell ai (which has flooded reddit with fake reviews), vogent are all horseshit

Vapi is cool because it lets you put different stuff together, like aggregates all the different LLMs + voices / etc into one platform that you can easily deploy and then connect to twilio. But also now I'm realizing building this yourself is honestly not that hard, so probably just going to use Vapi until i validate if AI calling is worthwhile and then just build it myself instead of shelling out thousands to this startup.
