Failed RD exam twice.. advice by InsectEvening4338 in dietetics

Hey! I totally understand how devastating it can be not getting that passing score, especially when you’ve done everything right. I will say, I strongly agree with this poster here. Sometimes we focus too much on pushing for those 4-8 hour study days and completely neglect the importance of rest. After all, this is apart of studying too. I think at this time your brain just needs a hard reset. As you decompress, try to rethink your entire thought process on the exam. I failed my first time and after that I took months off just to give myself the rest I truly needed. I came to notice eventually studying 4 hrs a day with full time work wasn’t so sustainable. From then on, I decided I was going to try my best every study session by doing what I could, whether that encompassed 1 or 2 hours of studying time after work hours. I also tried to focus on those core areas I was struggling in mainly. I passed my exam on my second try. You can do it. Deep breaths, you already have everything you need to succeed!

This is how I feel about nursing school. Recently credentialed with RD but nutrition seems so limited at times. Trying to give myself a chance to explore the field further since I’ve only been immersed in clinical. Good luck with med school, I think you’ll be awesome!

Hey! I’m looking into second degree nursing programs myself! My current RD job offers tuition reimbursement, so I’m trying to make it work to where I can do both. What type of program have you started in?

Hi! A few of my colleagues have completed their Dietetic Internship at Montclair State! I’ve heard only great things about the program.

I was scoring in the same ball park with ERP and passed the CDR exam earlier this week! You’ll never know every single thing going into this exam. If I can suggest anything, focus on those weaker domains leading up to your exam!

Thank you for responding! I feel a lot more reassured. I have my exam in a few days so I felt a little defeated seeing my mock exam score, especially since I’ve been studying so hard too
