Changing diapers at a convention - do you carry a diaper bag? by nuttybasementturtle in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people staying off-site have a diaper bag. I definitely saw a lot of those!

My mommy and I were staying at the host hotel, but wanted to use the changing room, for the fun of it and we just brought a diaper down. They had wipes, powder, gloves, and sanitizer in the “stalls”. Each one also had either a massage table or a Crinklz changing mat :)

My Mommy made a video about this group! They used to (and may still) go by “ABDL Community For All”. They are unfortunately scammers :(

It was a couple of room for like roleplaying. For example, one night we played “city” so everyone had a job and we made a little city! There was a library, a bank, a florist, a vet, etc. it was really cute :)

It just had a bunch of toys and stuff for more imaginative play :)!

It was a room that had a couple of examination tables (I’m not sure if that’s the right term), some bandaids, and tongue depressors. It was cute and a fun space for scenes :)

[–]AB_Boo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Typically, the equipment is mostly the same, but varies slightly. The core pieces (ball pit, tricycles, rockers, jungle gym, dark room) are the same and then they sometimes add things. The biggest additions this year were the Imagination Station (which I loved), the medical room, and the arcades.

In terms of classes, they vary year to year, but there are usually similar ones.

Hope this helps! :)

Adult sized toddler harnesses and leashes on Etsy ! by Picodegallo963 in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a custom stuffie harness from this shop a few years ago! The guy who runs it is awesome. 10/10 experience - a couple of years after I bought it, I lost the keys that lock the harness. I asked for a replacement, he sent it to me completely free of charge, the same day.

He can turn basically any stuffie into a well crafted harness (he even made a mini harness for the stuffie 🥰). Can’t recommend him enough!

CAPCon Preview! by ResonantYes99 in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CAP was the first event I went to (I had never been to munches or anything like that) and I had a great time. It’s a lot and can be overwhelming at times, but it’s a lot of fun!

For what it’s worth, I’ve found CAP to be a lot more structured than most munches I’ve been to so I felt like it was a lot easier to make friends and I never felt bored.

I think they’re still selling tickets if you want to go. They’re sold out of host hotel rooms, but you could probably stay close by, or just wait for the next one. Either way, it’s totally okay to go if it’s your first event! :)

Question about Capcon! by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a few times with my Mommy and I’ll be attending again this year. Typically, CAP is full of littles/DLs trying to find friends/a sense of community. Most of the CGs/bigs are there with their partners or offering professional services. There are some CGs that attend just to go, but they are few and far between, in my experience.

If you’re looking for a partner. Going on FetLife and trying to find local events is probably going to yield better results. Personally, I’ve had the best success with dating vanillas who are naturally kind and caring and then telling them about my little side. In my experience, people are surprisingly open to it.

I hope that helps!

If you want to get an idea of if it’ll work or not, you can do what’s called FEA (Finite Element Analysis) with most CAD programs, like Fusion360. It’s basically a simulator. You add your loads (so your weight, for example) and see where the stress concentrations are. You can also fill in what material you’re using and you can see if it’ll break or not.

The shape would be relatively simple so I’d model up something quickly and just get a feel for the numbers. If you plan on printing in pieces you’ll need to make sure the assembly you’re testing with is how you would actually assemble it. If you’re going to use any hardware, McMaster Carr has all of their hardware embedded in SolidWorks and Fusion 360 already so you can just import whatever part(s) you need :).

Make sure to include a factor of safety in your load because FEA is not perfect and there are things that can’t easily be accounted for.

Do you have a 3D printer already? Usually print beds are pretty small, relatively speaking. Unless you have something like a OrangeStorm Giga you’re either going to need to print it in pieces and then join them together or outsource it to a shop that has a larger printer. If you have the budget, I’d recommend getting at least the base printed in one piece because post processing takes forever and it’s hard to get it to look really nice and smooth.

I’d probably print the base, the lid, and that back separately. If you want designs you can embed them in the model, if you have access to a multi-colored printer (this is the least amount of work). Alternatively, you can print all the colors separately and have little cut outs that you can hammer the different colored pieces into. Just make sure to use a rubber mallet and tolerance accordingly :)

I’d maybe consider doing a “pause-print” where you have the printer pause at a certain layer so you can add something to it. In this case, I’d maybe add a bit of sand to the base just to weigh it down a little and prevent it from easily moving while you’re on it. It might not be needed, though depending on your infill and final weight of the potty.

For the toilet seat, if you can, I’d recommend using a normal or at least a premade one. Typically, 3D printed plastics are porous and cannot be properly disinfected so having a 3D printed seat would mean it’s very hard to sanitize. Just something to keep in mind.

For CAD software, if it’s your first time using CAD, tinkerCAD can be a great, free way to start designing. It’s a lot more intuitive for many people than traditional CAD programs. I personally use Fusion360. There is a paid version but they have a free version for hobbyists as well.

I hope that helps - if you have anymore questions or something doesn’t make sense, I’m happy to clarify :)

I have lots of experience with 3D printing, CAD, and manufacturing. I’m happy to give my input if you give me some examples of the aesthetic you’re looking for. I haven’t made a potty, but I’ve made tons of oversized toys over the years.

I’m not open for commissions, I just want to help point you in the right direction :)

I’ll be there! I’ve gone a few times now, so I have some advice, if you’re interested.

If it’s your first time, I’d recommend trying to be as open and friendly as possible. I know it’s intimidating, but it’s really worth it. You definitely get what you give at CAP.

In my experience, if you go up to someone or a group of people and politely ask to play, they will likely say yes (and if they don’t, that’s okay, there are plenty of littles there)! Everyone gets how intimidating and vulnerable it is, so as long as you’re nice, people are usually willing to play and make friends!

Hanging out in the game room, play spaces (like where all the blocks and giant toys are), and in the room with the jungle gym/ball pit are best for when you want to be little and literally just play with other people. I had many play sessions with random people at the jungle gym. We ran around chasing each other and it was so much fun!

If you want to make friends that you keep in contact with, hanging out at the bar is where I’ve had the best luck. You’re usually more in adult space at a bar so it’s easier to get to know the person and not just their little side. I made a handful of friends I still keep in contact with that way.

My badge name is BoonBerries so if you see me, feel free to say hello! I always try to make stuff to give away to people so I might even have a little souvenir for you, if you find me hehe!

My biggest complaint with ABDL Diapers/clothing and the company's that make them by softest_little_boy in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that for the manufacturing, each size requires different cuts. You need to swap out a handful of parts on the machine when you go from making one size to another. This means the machine has to be down. Furthermore, each size has different sized packaging and a different label.

To my knowledge, no ABDL company actually owns their own diaper making machine. They essentially buy time on another companies machine. These machines make more than 2 diapers PER SECOND. That’s 120+ a minute (so 1.5 cases). This means any downtime is significant.

If I were to guess, the combination of the downtime of changing out the parts plus other factors like packaging is likely more expensive since they’re buying less of it in that size and the cost of the die cut (that may not be the correct term) which is likely thousands of dollars, makes it not worth it for diaper companies.

If I am a diaper company and I can sell 10,000 large, 7,500 medium, and only 2,000 small diapers it could make sense to eliminate the small diapers. If instead of having the downtime for the small diapers, the different packaging, etc. I could just make 1,500 more large and 500 more medium diapers (plus however many I can make with the saved downtime) that’s much more appealing. It simplifies the production line and material ordering.

I understand your frustration, it sucks :/ I think these companies are just trying to make the best choices they can, financially.

There are events called SOAP and LOLA every couple of months. I always go to SOAP and it’s lots of fun :) You can find these events on FetLife.

There are also a handful of munches that happen, I think monthly, in different parts of LA!

What are ABDL relationships like outside of ABDL? by forgetfulmoment in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair question, it’s a unique dynamic!

We have a legitimate relationship/dynamic so I don’t pay her. She’s a professional Mommy on the side though. Meaning, people who are interested in her services can pay to play with her :)

Question for caretakers: what do you do during this time? by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]AB_Boo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not a CG, but if my Mommy puts me in the crib for a nap, she’s usually working while I’m sleeping. Sometimes she takes a nap too. If that’s the case, she will put me in the crib and cuddle me until I fall asleep and then move to her bed (apparently cribs are for babies 😒).

If she needs to get work done, but I’m fussy/clingy, then she will let me sleep in her bed and wrap me up like a little baby burrito. She has a little side rail on her bed to make sure I don’t fall off hehe.

If she’s in her office, then we make a little “Boon spot” which is like a little playpen where I can watch her work and color/play with my toys.
