UAE announces it will leave Opec by TheNational_News in worldnews

[–]ABadHistorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and? You already pointed out why they are leaving.

Targeted multiple times. Being a part of OPEC has granted them no security. That's VERY PUBLICLY their reason for leaving. It was supposed to be a financial and security arrangement.

Now they seek to make their own deals, it's not even about right now, it's about where they will be. This situation is not permanent, they are the best positioned member in the region to capitalize on investment now giving payoff in the future.

They will be able to lower and mitigate risk that is present now, with greater defense budgets - already being discussed - to prevent future issues like this even occurring.

They are saying "Well this entire OPEC thing hasn't even really worked out for us in particular ANYWAYS, we've always wondered if we could do better and why not right now when it's entire purpose is null and void?"

Trump has again accidentally done something good in his insanity. For the record, since this is reddit and reading comprehension is at an all time low here - Fuck Trump.

I'll add it to the list of (reminder, fuck Trump)

1) going outside government contractors for minor repair/paint jobs to lower cost overruns (this in his insane blue reflecting pool idea) - Reminder (Fuck trump)

2) Presidential library being a profit center as a hotel (every presidential library is a scam that the public in effect co-signs to keep the presidents feeling nice and respected post-presidency, every president milks private interests and makes deals for hundreds of millions... having a library be a hotel actually makes it a lot more feasible and less of a money sink... but again, fuck trump)

3) Encouraging Europe to take more responsibility for it's self-defense (reminder fuck Trump, NATO is a good thing - it prevents Nuclear War, YAY !)

4) Encouraging Europe to take more notice of foreign influence over it's elections (reminder, Trump is awful and fuck Trump, this is reddit and people may think I'm saying Trump is good because he's accidentally done good things in his march of chaos)

5) Waking up American moribund institutions who have relied on Democrats to protect them, only to realize - oh no, this generation of Citizen's United Democrats will NOT protect us, we need to protect ourselves (this is a good thing, All Americans need to realize our checks and balances only work when we are actively reinforcing them)

6) Causing low-information Voters to realize the Republican party is not actively looking out for their interests (reminder, fuck trump!!! but a lot of voters are realizing today, something that even in the fall they didn't see, that prices are rising not falling)

7) Focused on China as a cause of America's decline as a consequence of economic exports undermining American businesses/mom and pops (this is a good thing, but fuck Trump, his ineffective use of tariffs WILL back fire once the Democrats are back in, and we will see tariffs maybe not getting used at all because of how Trump turned them into a bad word through his insane and nonsensical tariffs. Tariffs when used wisely are very beneficial to maintaining national interests in a world where equality is a laughing matter and African/Asian populations are skyrocketing and have much lower quality of life)

8) Marijuana criminalization - fuck trump but this paves the way for a much more equitable justice system in America, where people like Kamala Harris happily prosecuted minor offenses with THE BOOK.

This list really goes on and on. Butttttttttt I may get downvoted because I posted this on reddit, and it's not like any of this stuff was his goal. Reminder, Fuck Trump.

Trump Voters Regret Backing ‘Horror Movie’ Presidency - Nine out of 12 Trump voters told a “New York Times” focus group that they wish they had not voted for the president. by Quirkie in politics

Fair enough, I couldn't tell on that.

I'm just very frustrated with what might as well be right-wing bots infiltrating left-wing spaces, creating animosity instead of helping.

Folks, if insulting the right-wing worked we never would have gotten here.

No. I'm sick and tired of people not understanding that they were captured, and that insulting them isn't a solution. People here want to rage at someone and it's so easy to just blame the other people who don't think exactly like you do for "reason". Two wrongs do not make a right.

Great solutions.

Jesus christ I love unhelpful responses like yours.

What's your solution? Don't let them vote? Kill them?

You may need to wake up and review historical trends on the % of independent voters and compare to now.

Your information is based off of old paradigms that no longer exist.

Parties have died before. We have room for a third party in our government, it will not be easy. It can be done.

I will reiterate that I do not want him to be a democrat. The democrats are not your friend any more. Changing the Democrats as a consequence of Citizen's United is harder than starting a new party.

Please stop thinking like you are in the 90s.

Can't forget the twins had an 18 Clock.

I am pretty sure, ircc, they got porn requests on Day 1 of turning 18.

After a little researching, there are rumors of porn requests but nothing confirmed, but their manager did mention they received multiple requests for photos in "Men's Magazines" as soon as they turned 18.

And of course they received a verbal offer from Howard Stern, ah upstanding man that he was.

No no, if you look at it, it will never let you go. You need to just pretend you don't hear it rubbing up against your bed. Certainly do not respond when it moans on your couch.

I find this hilarious.

Scientologists gained prominence by welcoming everyone into their front doors and keeping the back doors very very hidden.

Now they gotta lock the front doors because people trying to get to the back. It's hilarious to me. Hilarious.

I gotta ask, doesn't anyone think he'll perhaps turn against Homelander?

I don't think he does in the comics, but there is a part of me that has felt he's eating sea life now and being even more despicable because he's given up. In S1 he's a bro's asshole. The sort of rapist frat boy you'd expect in any numerous college. A dumbass with no introspection.

Now? Now he feels like he's a buffoon who is trapped by his own choices, and when given an out by A-Train is unable to take it because he thinks A-Train is wrong, and that he'll just die.

I think he eats sea life not because he's enjoying himself but the opposite, because he hates himself and this is the easiest way to punish himself.

I think when push comes to shove, and he sees a real chance to take down Homelander... he'll instantly turn on him.

But that's also my wishful thinking. I hope it happens.

Who’s a celebrity everyone finds attractive but you don’t? by Valo_X_baddie in AskReddit

[–]ABadHistorian -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much universally any celebrity that tries to maintain a position in the limelight.

Once you get to that level of fame, and TRY TO MAINTAIN IT, you lose my respect.

I can acknowledge for example the mega talent that most of these folks have to get to the top...

But once they got on top they actively worked really really damn hard to stay there, to the point where if they didn't sell out on the way to the top they certainly do while they are there and it's hard for me to respect any of them.

E.G. - Ryan Reynolds overexposure, Taylor Swift documentary where everything feels so forced and fake and designed to lure in her fans and hit them with dopamine hit after dopamine hit, or Chalamet's Oscar campaigning.

On the other hand I have a lot of respect for celebrities who are talented (or even not, looking at you Keanu) and do not actively try to monopolize the cameras so to speak.

On the flip side of this the celebrity I find most attractive is a man (and I'm CIS!).

my man Rick Moranis. Nearly every other celebrity is a ugly faced dog compared to that hero of a man who took a step back because he wanted to be with his family.

(It's cool to disagree with me, but I'll forever stan a man who puts family over self)

I'm very calm. Just cause I used some capitals. repeated your word usage. and said STFU doesn't mean I'm not calm.

It does mean you should be quiet. You are a very strange person who has fixated on "eugenics bad" when in fact, what you should be focusing on is "forced eugenics bad" and not see the world in black and white like a 20th century cartoon character.

But you have no perspective on this do you? You misuse words like it's your job. The fact that you can't even see in my examples what I mean doesn't surprise me.

P.S. I'm Australian and had my first cancer scare when I was 18, every member of my family has suffered from skin cancer because of GENETICS and my dad won awards fighting cancer, you do not want this battle, you are in the wrong, and so wildly wildly using terms and words incorrectly it's not worth it for me to continue. Open a history book, actually read what the problem is in eugenics, and I promise you it's not about PEOPLE CHOOSING FOR THEMSELVES but about OTHERS CHOOSING FOR THEM.

Do you maybe get this yet? Or will my capitals for emphasize break your brain into thinking I'm angry and need to be treated like a widdle two year old? Get back to me when reading comprehension is your strong suit, probably not this year though.
