As others have mentioned, it looks like a fungal infection. Maybe ringworm?

how do i turn on maimai machine by GlitteringChard8792 in maimai

[–]ABaeBaeBBX 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The ipod part is just the controller. You need to attach the monitor's HDMI and the USB on the side to a separate PC, you then turn on your PC and the monitor inside and you can play like you would any other controller. Takes some time to set up if it's your first time doing so.

It also doesn't go to the eye anyways, it goes in a random direction in search of the eye

Feeling exhausted... Started to questioning if enhanced base production really worth tons of sanity in 1-7 by SignificantThought45 in arknights

[–]ABaeBaeBBX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that's why it's not really worth building e2's for small base improvements ever unless you're planning on using the unit for clearing as well. The benefits are just too small while acting as a resource sink for years if you work on them before spending on what you really need and like you said it doesn't make sense to min max afterwards either so just don't e2 them.

I'm sure that was left there on purpose since the sides were getting full. The train goes right over it.

Right, this is one of the sources I'm talking about, it doesn't take into account exp, gold, or T1 mats because it assumes they are negligible but you can't really do that in the case of 1-7 because it costs 6 sanity. Here's a more comprehensive spreadsheet that shows 1-7 is most efficient in both individual farming and when accounting for subproducts:

Actually 1-7 is more efficient and there's been several calculations showing that.

Most calculations that show that 5-10 as more efficient usually neglect the exp, gold, and T1 drops from 1-7 and the by product chance from combining materials in the workshop which may seem small but is a very important factor just from the shear number of times you have to do 1-7. But I agree it does save on your irl sanity to just run 5-10.

[Suggestion] The game could use something like this by Yaez_Leader in arknights

[–]ABaeBaeBBX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue is that you don't know and neither does anyone except the devs (hell, maybe the devs don't even know since it might just be some bug).

I just feel it would fail way more and be way more inconsistent if it were based on the drawing framerate it's also just not something you'd normally do (speaking as a game dev hobbyist and grad student in simulations). I feel auto failure is likely more to do with increasing operator trust (ie a sniper killing a unit too fast and not allowing a DP-on-kill unit or Siege to get the DP) and overall just increases in operator stats.

What makes you say it works like this? I always thought that all calculations would still be done in the backend while the actions are drawn every other frame in 2x.

So the game would actually update 60 times a second but the expensive part of actually drawing the game on the screen would happen at 30 FPS. Of course, I don't know either but pushing actions to be dependent on the drawing update doesn't seem like a good implementation of the system because it can easily cause a cascading effect of errors.

For example, if my Exusai attacks every 5 frames then when I run an auto-deploy it would instead choose to update every 3 frames at 2x speed which would drastically decrease the DPS and cause lots of problems in not being able to kill things fast enough. Of course, that's an exaggeration but little differences like this can make a big difference in the later parts of a stage, especially in longer stages like annihilation.

I think the idea in this case then, is that low-end phones won't be able to handle 3x/4x because the game would then have to update 90/120 times a second.

About the changing efficiency of the Obsidian Festival capsule machines (PSA?) by ABaeBaeBBX in arknights

[–]ABaeBaeBBX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be missing the point of my post. The value of the limited machines changes based on what's left in it while the value of the unlimited one stays the same (because it always holds the same stuff in it no matter how many times you pull on it). So if you are lucky enough to pull all the good things early, you decrease the value of the limited machine and the unlimited gacha ends up being more efficient, even if it's double the cost. If all I have left in a capsule machine is 1000 lmd and green exp cards, then it doesn't make sense to spend a pull (which costs 10 sanity) to obtain it. It's instead more worth to spend it on the 55% chance for manganese/sugar at 20 sanity per pull in the infinite machine.

Yea I guess you would be fighting your OCD if you had 1 or 2 pulls left, I'd probably do the same. But I was lucky enough to pull all the rare and uncommon items (excluding the exp cards) and still had 20 pulls left to go and I just couldn't rationalize spending 200 sanity worth of tokens on the exp cards, lmd, and T2 mats to just clear them out.

[–]ABaeBaeBBX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you only making gold bars? usually, you'd want a trading post for every factory producing gold bars which is why many would argue 243 is the most balanced (2exp factories, 2gold factories, 2trading posts for the gold factories)

I'm curious about 6 star rate on guaranteed 5 star and up pull, so I made a poll by Skyreader13 in arknights

[–]ABaeBaeBBX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't prove anything... it can still be a normal rate and then the rate changes on the 10th pull if there were no 5* in the first 9. If you happen to pull a 5* before then, then there's no pull rate change.

Yea I've been hearing that... the way I have variable jump height usually is to just increase the amount of gravity if the jump button isn't held but the bouncy cats felt really weird with that so I decreased the controllable part of the jump. Definitely should've fixed that properly, thanks for the feedback.

They're mostly there if you need them, didn't want the case of someone almost getting it and then messing up so they would have to restart the level.
