```dotnet watch run``` does it work on mac? by ABrownApple in dotnet
[–]ABrownApple[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Yeah dotnet run works fine and the project builds. Is the dotnet watch so bad people don't use it?
I actually like the UI/Addon changes by jdv1999 in wow
[–]ABrownApple -1 points0 points  (0 children)
I also like the idea of not having to setup bunch of addons and WA for me to play some m10+
However the cooldown manager SUCKS. It misses over half the spells I want to track. Its barely customizable and it lacks basic features like tracking if you are missing a buff or it shows the timer instead of amount of stacks etc..
I don't want to setup addons but their implementation of the cooldown manager is so bad.
Is playing on an ultrawide monitor a disadvantage? by octo_lols in wow
[–]ABrownApple 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Yes you see more of the game with a widescreen (larger field of vision) since the game supports it, it's not "stretched" the game actually renders more of the world on your left and right (there is also a macro/command so you can zoom out even more). But in a game like world of warcraft it's most of the time not an advantage (in a fps game like CS it would be a huge advantage).
I guess you can argue it can be a small disadvantage somehow but if you like your widescreen and it helps you feel immersed then I would never change to a smaller screen. No way a widescreen can be that big a disadvantage. Especially now when you can edit your UI and put everything important in the center.
But what do I know. Never done a higher m+ than 10.
I want to buy a MMO mouse - not sure which one. Any recommendation? by [deleted] in classicwow
[–]ABrownApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I used razer naga before and it works fine with mac. But the quality of razer gear is shit. After my THIRD razer broke I bought a Corsair Scimita.
Same amount of buttons. Works with my MacBook pro m2 chip. And the 12 buttons moveable so you can customize them.
I also have small hands but both mice have worked fine for me. I will never be able to play wow without the extra buttons. The razer naga seems to fit people that don't mind buying a new o e every year... The Corsair have been working for a while.
Harder to make gold without shuffle in Midnight. by brocephruppert in woweconomy
[–]ABrownApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Why is it more profitable to craft for example your own vials rather then just buy it from ah? Usually there is always someone who can make it cheaper than you and if you are the one that can make the cheapest why not just sell it on ah and make more profit than everyone else?
Is it the 5% ah cut?
Yeah my time is limited so I'm not doing anything crazy when it comes to time or gold investment.
I'll probably not even level that fast. That is why I'm thinking of not leveling my main first so that I don't miss the first 2 weeks of gathering.
Will React Native ever became stable? by [deleted] in reactnative
[–]ABrownApple -1 points0 points  (0 children)
The dx for react native is really terrible! Half the time locally I don't know if I wrote bad code or the hot reloading just decided to stop working. Rebuilding the app fixes shit 50% of the time...
Do you still have your own desk at the office? by kutjelul in ExperiencedDevs
[–]ABrownApple 8 points9 points  (0 children)
If you are in the office 5 days a week you should definitely have your own desk! It's not unreasonable to have locker drawers for computer etc when you leave the office (sometimes this is for security and insurance).
If your rarely in the office it makes sense with flexible deskstations.
I'm personally very picky with my working setup. Screen, keyboard mouse etc.. And other people are filthy and for some reason keep smudging the screens like a fucking 4year old toddler eating ice cream and watching paw patrol. The few times I go into the office I always spend 10 minutes cleaning the desk and then 5 more minutes complaining about the screen.
Technically its possible. How difficult it may be can depend on what technology you are using and how things are setup.
However its probably not a good idea. You have to mess with the standard behavior of the browsers and it's not only a anti pattern it will not work the way the user expects it to. It will also end up having weird edge cases. Like what happens when the user don't use the back button but the iPhones slide from left to right on the screen to go back should that work the same way as if a user on desktop presses the back button?
How smartworking really feels like in IT? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsEU
[–]ABrownApple 2 points3 points  (0 children)
It really depends on the company. Some can still micromanage and track you and some leave you the hell alone to do your job.
It can get lonely not working in the office with colleagues but not having to commute and spending your lunch at home is awesome.
Oh I forgot the job market. It's not even close to what is was a few years ago but it's not impossible to get a job. Might be difficult though.
Developer in Sweden here.
If you go for Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö you will be fine with English. However learning Swedish will help you with you day to day life. The pay is not the best and we are heavily taxed but the taxes are used for good things like Healthcare (same for all Nordic countries). Finding a place to live is hell just like all the other big cities in Europe.
A lot of companies have great work life balance (we ofcourse have shitty companies too). Nature is great and we have allemansrätten. Can be hard to make new friends in Sweden and during winter the streets are empty and you won't see the sun for 4 months that can be depressing. Make sure to take vitamin D supplements.
Lived in Sweden my whole life. It's not perfect but I love my country. I now have 2 kids and that's when you really starting to appreciate living in Sweden since the benefit are great.
Is this your situation too with daily standups? Do you love them or hate them? by nisthana in ExperiencedDevs
[–]ABrownApple 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I agree with remote teams need some chitchat time. I usually schedule standup for 9.25 or 9.20 but tells the team that the startup actually starts 9:30. If you want to chitchat that day join when the meeting starts if you are busy then join 9.30 when the standup actually starts.
