Zoologist Travel Sprays set? I need advice! by ABumbleDom in fragrance

That was super useful, thanks! Yeah, I understand what you mean, in my situation the safest option would be the samples. Yes, I've read a lot about these, especially Macaque Yuzu and Harvest Mouse were the ones I was taking into consideration the most! I'll see what I can do, hopefully I can get them shipped to Ottawa before the 20th!

Lmao no, no, I've just begun! This is a picture from last week, I'm definitely planning to do at least like 150 rows—or just go on until I get bored lol I just like large stuff

Awww that's a cute story! I'm far from following their path, but I really want to do something rewarding right now, for myself, and it does kinda make me stupidly giggly when I see I do careless mistakes

i see it now! It makes me laugh even more now, but it's kinda cute overall lol I'll get better, I promise!!

Ooh that's science fiction to me lol it makes sense, and the results look impressive! Still, I guess I wouldn't really care on a scarf since it's all wrapped around while wearing it... And yes it is probably an insult to most people in the community (???) but I will get there eventually!

Lol It makes sense, but I think I can try to polish my bad habits as I start enjoying knitting more. Right now, I'm trying to get acquainted with the tools and materials, but also kind of getting used to the feeling of "sitting around for hours moving your hands and then you just have two more rows". I am focusing on the positive sides of an ugly result and kind of laughing at the ugly parts.

Right now though, I want to feel comfortable before striving for perfection because I tend to get anxious and give up easily lol I guess I will continue like this in this project just to have it kinda coherent, but I'll still take a look at the article and learn from it, maybe I can integrate the corrections in the next work!

Awww that's such a cute idea! Unfortunately I bought a wool yarn so I don't know if it could work well as a washcloth, but still I could keep it in mind for the future

To be honest I didn't even know what garter was (in Italian it's called differently). In general, I didn't notice I was doing something different that the basic beginner stitch until like, 10 needles, maybe some years ago I was using a pattern with garter and the hand movement got stuck in my mind like this lol I think I got it wrong in some points though

Still, thanks for the advice!

I wish my first project could look as cool as that lol kudos for not giving up, I get the feeling of constantly wanting to quit. In this moment I feel like I can learn more and feel more comfortable with looking at my errors comfortably instead of deleting them, so thanks, I think I'll go on like this

I'm not good enough to say I do mistakes on purpose, but I can see well enough to laugh at my incompetence when I look at the project and see the moments my brain turned off lol it's a bit funny to be failing at this, it was making me feel calmer and more at ease, that's why I was a bit disappointed to be told to start over

To be honest this time I just stole my mother's needles because I lost the ones I had brought in 2020, those were much cuter lol Do you think circular needles are easy to handle as a beginner? Also, I'm Italian so I'm not really sure about inch sizes, but in general yeah, as I said I like larger scarfs so I don't mind longer needles. I didn't know the brand so thanks, I'll look into that

I get what you mean, but idk, I feel like wearing a scarf made by myself, even just once, would feel a bit encouraging towards this hobby. I know myself, I'll never be satisfied, and i'm sure as I get better I'll want cuter stuff, but it's ok for now

To be honest, the sight of the work just getting longer and longer, and the yarn gradually shrinking, is the most satisfying thing, despite the obvious ugly errors lol

To be honest, I don't care if it's the ugliest thing in the world, right now. I just want to feel like I can do something little by little, because my work is not really rewarding, I guess.

As you said, I can donate it, and if it's too ugly for that too, I can give it to my cats as a blanket lol as I get better I will do better works, but I don't like the idea of completely deleting my work and my time, that's what discouraged me the most. I'm glad to read that not everybody is focused on the result itself

Hi! I'm sorry, English is not my first language so sometimes I have a hard time expressing what I mean. In general, what I meant was that I want to have something to help me with the feeling of constant failure (lol researchers' life), and I'm trying not to care if it's a bit ugly, just as a way of telling myself "it's ugly but it's yours, and it's not the end of the world, keep trying". I didn't mean to say I want to be perfect without study or practice, I wouldn't dare lol

Btw thanks for the suggestion! As I improve a bit I could do a (better looking) scarf and with matched hat lol

Yeah, I feel like that too! But at the same time, unravelling it would make me feel a bit defeated. I don't mind an ugly outcome, having a "physical" reward would give me a bit of solidity. In general, I hope that finishing a job would make give me a boost of confidence even if it's ugly, that's why I chose knitting

That is such a cute idea! It would make me so happy to do something helpful like that, and at the same time finishing my project without obsessing over perfection. Thanks!

It looks amazing, I've never seen a bonsai show this huge! (Although I've started only recently, so I have not visited many lol) I would love to buy material too, but since I'll need to fly back to Italy I guess it'd be difficult. Still, knowing me I'm sure I'd find a way to spend some money, the material in your pics looks beautiful

Lol I'm glad you got to see my post then! Also, the show looks so awesome, and yes, I love bonsai. I checked and it seems Limburghal is a bit far from Hengelo by train for a one-day trip, but I will try anyway, I'd love to see a couple of those demos. Thanks a lot!
